Buying Advice Kubota or Kioti or Mahindra or LS or McCormick????

I wonder if an LS built Mitsubishi engine is of similar quality to a Mitsubishi built one? The same question would apply to any of the brands' engines, whether Iseki, Yanmar, Perkins, Cat, etc

Many times when something like an engine is licensed to be built by another party, many of the parts are identical and sourced from the same place, many times the licensing manufaturer. I'd be willing to bet a lot of the parts in the LS built engines come from the Mitsu factory or the same supply chain that Mitsu is using. LS is essentially just assembling them.

. . . While I confess to not knowing details of shibaura diesel engines, they never bubbled to top in my research and I would consider them average. . . .

I don't know the details of any of them. I do know, however, that there are a LOT of guys who own Shibaura-built New Holland tractors with Shibaura engines who rave about how great they are. I suspect the reality is that there's very little difference in the quality of any of these engines from the major manufacturers like Mitsubishi, Daedong, Yanmar and Shibaura.

When I type "Shibaura engine parts" into google the first link I get is to TBN about where to get Shibaura parts. Bad sign.

Three Kubota's and 2300 hours and minimal problems:eek:ur choice.Choose the "dealer" would be my recommendation. In the Kubota line the "B" as a minimum and may-be a small "L".
I bought New Holland had some learning curves but it is working good for me now. If I had it to do again I would go Kubota since my New Holland dealer is going Mahindra. Also mine is a 3045, a little bigger would have been better lol.

Can someone educate me on the "insurance" that is required from Kubota on the purchase/financing of a new tractor? "Kubota's property insurance is around $23 per month and covers the tractor both on and off your property" is what I am being told by a dealer and just not understanding what this is about? Has anyone insured a new Kubota tractor purchase with a policy from your own insurance agent? (State Farm, All-state, Farmers, etc)

The first is a recent thread, the second is a sticky about the program. I think it's ridiculous, and another reason I would skip buying a Kubota, but that's just me.

I don't think it's ridiculous at all. If I was loaning someone money and the loan was secured by collateral that could be stolen, flooded, burned, etc., I'd want insurance covering that collateral. (And I suspect you would too.) Otherwise, the value of your collateral can disappear and all you have to rely on for repayment is the creditworthiness of the borrower.

Also, if Kubota made these loans on an unsecured basis (i.e., without taking the tractor as collateral), the interest rate would be a heckuva lot higher than 0%. So $200 - $300 per year for insurance is the price you pay for an interest free loan. Seems like a fair deal to me.

Very good point.

Its really was 2000.00$ for the insurance for 60 months.

For $2000 does that insurance policy last the life of the tractor or just the life of the loan?
