30 degrees right now, high of 50 and rain in the forecast.

As far as the flat tire on the Subaru:

It didn't appear to be leaking at the valve stem. However, the tire had popped off the rim (not sure why) in one spot and when I was trying to inflate it, the air just passed through. Once I jacked it up and started inflating, the tire re-seated on the rim and I got 35 psi in the tire. It seems to be holding pressure now (visually) and I'll check the pressure with a tire gage in a few hours.

Watch for a broken bead in the tire maybe? The cable or wires embedded in the tire bead can break. Years ago working in a gas station (the real kind) I was inflating a tire that had gone flat, had the air gauge laying on the rim. The broken bead gave way and the air pressure threw the gauge up at me. Got a fat lip.

It was just a minor "pop" when it reseated...startled me a bit.

Roy, any possibility the tire was a little low on air and did a curb scrape, something at slow speed that could have unseated the tire? Easy to see, if the outside of the tire is banged up. If not, time will tell.

Already drank both cups of coffee for the day. 57° with rain and wind. Heading to 64° with rain, thunderstorm and high winds. Should be a interesting weather day. Cleaning up shop from projects that I have been working on. Then NASCAR in the afternoon. Go JJ.
Good Morning All.

interesting that we both posted at the same time. Sometimes it feels like I can reach out and touch some of you.
Well, sorta.

That's what I'm thinking...that, or a pothole...
Neither the tire or wheel has any "new" scuff marks...

Good morning guys, the girlfriend and I are spending the weekend in a fancy hotel in Bloomington, Illinois while visiting her eldest son. After being away from home since early Friday morning I am somewhat bored and looking forward to getting back home. Catch you then.

The "pop" is normal when seating a tire bead. We used to wipe a soapy lubricant on the tire bead before inflating to seat the bead. Even lubed, they still pop when that last section of bead goes into place.

Here's a pic showing old fence and new post, just to give an idea how much more room the dogs get to enjoy. (And we get to mow with rider instead of push mower.

David, from my perspective, you are livin' large in Paradise. I know the beauty of the place seems to hide all the hard work you've done to get to this point, but you can be exceptionally proud of your accomplishments. You are a credit to the self-reliant spirit.

Weather: We have a chance of setting a new record high for today. In Dallas-Ft Worth, that would be 87 F. Yesterday it was 86 in Vernon, Tx just 100 mi. NW of me. A cool front sweeps through this evening returning normal temperatures, but still a very mild Nov with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper 40s. All this after Wednesday morning of last week when my thermometer showed 19 F. Gotta love Tx weather.:D

Yes to that sentiment.

Glad to see you here this morning Jim.

Good Morning. 1025, cloudy, 72* with 88% humidity. Forecast calls for a high of 79* with a 50% chance of rain.

I've got to be at work at noon, so Margie is cooking an early lunch for us. Today is a big day for racing fans. The Cup drivers decide their championship in Homestead. And the F1 race, the GP of the Americas, is in Austin today. I'm recording both at home, but I will be doing a lot of clicking back and forth at work. And if the commercials line up right, I'll see what the football games are doing. {I wonder what my boss would say if I put another TV in my office} Everyone have a good day.

Sounds like your cook shed renovation should include a big, big screen TV with multi-channel viewing, six is probably enough. Maybe you can sell Margie on that idea over lunch. :D

Jim and Dave

Thanks for the kind words. To us, this is indeed Paradise, just paradise with a lot of work, LOL. That said, we don't lose sight of it and are constantly taking moments to reflect. We often joke about really retiring and how nice it must be for those that can just ring the phone and write a check to get stuff done, but likely boring too. Every now and then I'll run across some of the earlier pics and find the changes remarkable. I'm really blessed with a terrific helper.

Well, the tire is holding pressure (still at 35 PSI), so I guess it doesn't have a puncture....that's good news.

I don't see the temperature hitting 51 (per the forecast). It's mid-40's and quite raw. Almost feels like snow coming on....looks like it too.

Good morning folks! Second day in a row of feeling near normal, hope I finally got rid of whatever mystery virus I've had for over a month. Not perfect but not bedridden either. Had our son his wife and our oldest grandson this weekend and our daughter her husband and younger grandson were here as well. I think they all came to see me before I kicked the bucket! :D had a nice time anyway.

We just had a tornado hit this area less than five miles away from where we are staying...so glad we were at the hotel as the warning was so sudden. It was 72 degrees and very windy when it happened.
