Rear LED Lights - Dealer Mounted

Just a reminder if you use the 'u' brackets to be sure to always garage the unit, as they will encourage rust if left in the rain, and that could lead weakening issues.

Haven't determined yet how they will be mounted. I've seen some interesting brackets--I have about 1 inch of clearance in the barn so whatever it is, it can't add too much height.

I think it is best to keep the lights under the ROPS so the ROPS will protect them.

Yep, that's certainly the plan (and it's where they were mounted with the bolts through the ROPS). I am concerned about how much height the bracket may add to the top. The bolt used stuck up a inch+ and would have caused a problem.

A steel plate and the nuts shouldn't stick up a whole inch--you can use a cutoff wheel on your grinder, and nip the bolt's extra length off, at the ends of the nuts. Just my .02.

Interesting development - got a call from the same Kubota rep. that called me yesterday. He wanted to know the name of the dealer that drilled through the ROPS. I told him that they had agreed to replace the top portion.

That's very unusual. Kubota is really on top of things.

For me, the best place to mount a rear facing work light is not high up but rather low near the fender. That's the way Kubota mounts theirs and I agree. High up creates too many shadows. For front mounted lights it's the same. High up creates shadows but it's tough to find an acceptable place to mount the lights. They need to be mounted in front of the operator to avoid the shadows. Some guys mount on the loader bracket posts and that looks acceptable.

Maybe do a search for "4shorts" and see how he mounts lights. He is way ahead of the curve and probably has a good solution.

94bullitt -- great job on those rear end lights!
I'm just starting this project, I'm going the simple route and using magnets to mount to the rops...
