Well that's a Horse(fly) of a different color.. Are White trucks a no-no on the farm?

It's a Dodge, so it must smell like crap! Sorry, couldn't resist.

I had one white truck, a 2004 F250, and never remember this being a issue.

Are you sure it's the flys? There is a mulch mold that grows on adjacent surfaces that leaves black spots behind.

Chris

How are those F150 Eco-bursts doing? still keeping the repair shops busy?
:licking:

Flys don't seem to bother my White trucks. Of course, they're red so maybe I just don't see the fly spots on them.

Most of the gas company trucks are white, I like the dark silver myself it matches the color of our modified gravel driveway.

It's a good thing that you don't live in South Florida. The "Love Bugs" don't care what color the vehicle is. They are not picky.

White has more positives than negatives. It is a lot cooler in the summer Texas heat for starters....

Flies are attracted to white

Not sure why, but I have noticed that too.

I've always had one color or another, never bought them for the color but more for the options, I'd haul anything from A-Z in them with no concern of getting them dirty, When I bought my current truck ( white ) one of my concerns was (" Boy this white will sure show dirt" ) however on the contrary! yes it gets dirty but doesn't show up as bad as my MIL black mini-van, we liked white so well my wife wanted a white SUV, although both the SUV and my truck are two tone, white over gold, and white over silver, each with alumn wheels that give them a sporting appearance, The one thing I find that will show up is (Red mud) But I think red will show on any colorer,;)

I don't use my truck around or for farm work, However I know how badly flyspecks show on the ceiling of an open carport, when I was younger living at home we lived close to a chicken farm, My mother purchase a great deal on a house, unfortunately she bought it during the winter months, but come spring and summer we realized why the house was sold so cheap, Fly invasion, Between living 3/4 miles from chicken houses and 1 1/2 miles from rock quarry when the quarry was blasting it would send the flies swarming in our direction, she re-sold the house 2 years later, never again living near a chicken farm/houses or a rock quarry,

I have a White truck and they will swarm me. I swear this is true; One year I would drive slow and let them follow me and I actually cleared them from my property. Only in Texas.
