New Deere 54" 2 stage SnowBlower!!

Bigger is better! Picked up new Deere 54" snowblower last weekend to front mount on my new Deere 1026R SCUT (some assembly required). :cool2:

Looking forward to wider clearing & more torque compared to the Deere 445 L&G with front mount 47" snowblower I traded in!

Nah - I ran the JD 445 w/47" 2-stage for 11 years. Of course that was a 22hp gas engine, I expect this Yanmar 25hp diesel to have better torque.

But - IF it comes, this package should cut my time by a third. I have main house drive, pole barn drive, and back lot access to do.

To be honest, I am still in rapture with my new mulcher kit, and FEL - neither of which I had before. And I miss the cab from my 445!! :weepy:

I am hoping to upgrade my 47" to the 54" sometime soon.

How much did that cost you minus the quick hitch?

This will be the second winter for my 54" blower mounted to the front of a 2720. I only got to try it a couple times last winter as most of our snowfalls were light and best removed with the rear blade. I was a bit disappointed with the throwing distance as compared to my 15-year old MTD 33" walk-behind. Other 54" owners attributed the throwing performance to the poly impeller. I had a lot of coupon points built up with GreenFarmParts so over the summer I installed a metal impeller in place of the poly one. I'm anxious to see how it works this winter and I'm sure hoping it works better. I'm always leary of fixing something that isn't broken but given the successful reports from other 54" owners who made the swap I am optimistic.

My 47" has a metal impeller. Haven't used it yet.

Sorry for late reply, I was out deer hunting last week. I believe the entire package was around $3,400 (less state tax), with a $500 discount. The package includes the front PTO driveshaft, front PTO pillowblock bearing bracket, quicktatch hydraulic lift, and snowblower.

I assembled & installed myself, so discount took lack of dealer labor into account. Some of the assembly was pretty tricky, though.

I was aware of the polymer blower fan & comments that it doesn't throw as far, so I will see soon. Snow on the way. I had the 47" with steel blower fan on my previous tractor.

As noted by TBN bloggers, front PTO snowblowers are expensive - but in my area, we get heavy, wind-blown drifting snow & plows or buckets just don't work very well.
