Good morning all. I hope you all had a nice day yesterday and enjoyed the love of family and friends.
And boy are we happy to hear you made it home Randy. Outstanding.
My brothers three yellow labs, one American, two "English" style, the latter two are brother and sister, are snuggled up with the DIL's two cocker spaniels. Five delightful friendly dogs, all the same color, all lying on top of each other. I'll be brushing dog hair off me for awhile, but all worth it.
Had a nice Tday dinner out with my brother and his wife, who were really excited because not only had their not well employed son got a really good job, but they had a second visit from someone looking at their home. So today I am off early, headed up Route 95, hoping that Black Friday is not a major interstate day. Has to be an easier drive than the pouring rain coming down here. And I am happy to report that on my first fill up, I averaged 42.5mpg.
It's always fun to visit others, particularly family, but even after a couple of days, I miss being home.
Actually it's good I've been here, forced me to do absolutely nothing, get a lot of sleep, etc, which is likely what the doctor ordered. So I'm drinking my first cup of coffee in their kitchen, they have a nice center island that works well as a laptop holder. All the dogs are in the outer room, with their heater sure on, looking in the door at me. Why won't I let them in? Because if I do, my peace and quiet is gone. They sure are rambunctious in the morning. This reminds me why I so much want a larger place where I can have a dog and let it run.
I have some cute dog pics I'll post later. Internet is way too slow here vs. 84mg/sec on FIOS at home.
Boy am I spoiled. This is like dialup out here in the country. Everything they get is from a satellite, but I'm using my wifi card and it's even slow here, routing through a secondary carrier I guess.
Well, I"m waking up, need to go pack, and will get on my way around 9am. Home a little after lunch assuming the roads aren't parking lots.
This was a nice thanksgiving for me. I have a lot to be thankful for, despite my wife passing away. She isn't in pain any more, and I'm not so stressed out. After seven years of caring for her, my brother told me I had a kind of PTSD. This too will pass. Life is good.
