Pain anyone ?

Anyone else get these physical pains from repetitive work on tractor ? I recently had 6-7 acres of pines cut and started clearing roots and slash w/root rake.
Over a period of 5-6 weeks,working at it on Saturday 7-8 hours and weekdays a couple hrs during week if I could get away from work everything was going along fine. Then it got wet ,and had to stop - then pain became unbearable in right shoulder blade area.
Sitting in seat with body and head looking behind at root rake more than looking forward.
Dr tells me I have a pinched nerve and "you will have to find someone else to finish the job"---- Hiring it out is not in the budget/ Anyone else got these old nagging pains ??

I've had joint replacement in both big toes and back surgery as well. On days where I'll be doing a lot of box blade work, I rotate my seat to the right and alternate hydro pedal duties between right and left feet. Rotating the seat also helps to fend off the onset of "tractor neck". When the neck goes, the pain travels down the spine and pinches a nerve between my shoulder blades.

You don't know what your missing if you never had tractor back, try 16 hours watching a moco and baler pickup, riding around in circles. Some mornings I gotta get up an hour early just to get out of bed and get dressed, a cup of coffee and the thought of spending all day with the wife and kids usually encourages me to go to work.

The last time I did a lot of grading my neck was stiff for over a year. I tried to wait it out and treated it with ice and NSAIDs for 10 months and then went to see several doctors and ultimately had to get an MRI.
I eventually found a way to "adjust" my upper spine and got the wife to massage the area. If I had listened to the doctors I would be broke, and probably still in pain.
I'm more careful with my neck now. As you get older your discs can shrink and you have less flexibility, some more than others....
Hope you get back to normal quicker than I did.
