These new banner ads are about the most obtrusive I've seen. Hit the back button and they take over and the screen is frozen there. Have to hit the back button again and it takes you back to the forum menu. Not that it's such a catastrophe; it's just that it's kinda like being cornered by a high pressure used car salesman.

Let me guess, you are using IE which cant tell the difference between an ad on a page and the page itself?
Edit:
See http://trioniclabs.com/2012/02/back-button-mystery/ and http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/02/back-button-woes-but-only-in-internet-explorer/ for others with the same issue in Microsoft's broken browser.

Possible fix for you: http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/dfp/a_c4wB92MR4 or http://www.avsforum.com/t/1414064/b...e-executing-windows-7-64-bit/60#post_22160529

The Banners im seeing on the Ipad using Chrome are some of the most intrusive things Ive ever had the misfortune of seeing.

As you scroll down the page the ad, which runs across the entire bottom of the screen, about 1" high, moves up the screen while you scroll, until about the middle of the page, then it resets to the bottom.

In the process of doing that, it resizes itself, causing the screen to refresh and an annoying blink.

There are several different advertisers using this frame, Mazda is one.

Its very annoying to the extreme. Makes me glad to be back to the PC where I use FF and ABP. It completely ruins the forum experience.

Side note, is there a AdBlockPlus and NoScript option available for the iPad and Chrome yet? Holy Heck its some irritating.

Download the firefox adblocker from the mozilla site. You'll love it.

What is the actual ad for? What company?

MetLife is one of them, but there are several.

I have had to quit spending as much time on the forum lately, due to the "motion" ads. They are eating up my data for each billing cycle. Doesn't matter if I am posting or not, if I am connected to the forum, I go thru my 5 GB allotment, and that allotement is for 30 days. Sort of a hassle, since weather has been down here, and I have had more time to be on the forum.

edit: AT&T U-verse is another coming up.

further edit: State Farm is another one.

The boys are sure missing you on the Good Morning thread, hope they fix the banner problem so you can get back to posting.

Thanks, bakerg! I have gone thru double my allotment for this 30 cycle, and still have a week to go before beginning a new cycle. If the motion ads hang around, I may be even more scarce. The ads that just come up with a small photo and/or wording is not my complaint, but the ones eating data plan is. I fully understand ads make the forum available to us for free, but until I realized what was causing me to bust limits, the ads had cost me $50, plus taxes and fees for this cycle. I tried posting or not posting, and that doesn't make much of a difference. The type of ads do.

Firefox, Adblock plus and possibly Noscript will take care of that problem for you...
