thank goodness we didn't get what the Northerners got, our sleet must have been their snow.
but I had to come in for a different shovel, there's a layer of ice half an inch thick over everything.
Started the truck after, thank goodness, I remembered to loosen the wipers.
I shoveled the walkway into the front door to the driveway and gave it a rest. Have to move the suburban before I can bring out the snowblower.
Need to be careful with it, blowing ice chunks can do a number on your mailbox, etc. This is the kind of stuff that tests the mettle of your snowblower.
If it keeps bogging down in first gear and you have to take half swipes, quarter swipes, it's bad out there.
The good news is that it's going to hit 40 this afternoon and that will really help. So I don't have to get the last little bit off. As long as the sun hits it, it's history on black macadam.
and for those of you with plows, the big ones, good luck missing the lawn edges. No peeling...
back out I go. I put one of those bean/flax filled neck warmers in the microwave for two minutes, and wrapped that around my neck. Aaaahhhhhh.
