Wow - no snow in Idaho & snowmaggedon (again) in the N.E.

Here in the middle we keep getting p.o. snows from Alberta. And cold, of course.

this is what our snowfall usually looks like this time of the yearView attachment 350524View attachment 350527View attachment 350528

but so far this year...the ground is bare of snow. We had 6-8" last month, but thats all melted off. Was 40F today.

I kind of enjoy not having to get up a 5am to start clearing snow, but will be sad if we have a brown xmas. i would truly like snow on the ground.

Also, not been able to drive the horses and sleighs, and that sucks.

I hope you get some snow. Your pics of the horses and sleighs are sooo nice. Wouldn't be winter without them. :)

Looking at another 8-12 here in Beautiful Downtown Gouldsboro America.

I may be shoving back banks in December, which I can't remember doing in a long, LONG time.

My new to me tc30 chewed through the 14 inches we got down here in the flat lands with no sweat.
Still getting used to the hydrostatic thing though. I'll muddle through it sooner or later.....or not.

One thing I hadn't anticipated though is my poor old snow blower. It's designed for pto speed of 1180 and now it only throws the snow half as far.
My old Kubota had a twin speed pto, the tc30 is seemingly only 540.
Any ideas on how to get more?

I didn't see anything in a quick search. You might contact these folks: PTO Shaft, PTO Parts, PTO Adapter, PTO Power Take Off | Agri Supply and ask.

You would think someone makes a step-up gear box that connects directly to the pto shaft.

You might try the snow blower manufacturer.
Here's one possibility:
PTO Speed Reducer : Gearboxes : Product Catalogue : A-Line Trading - Component Solutions

Note that this is an Australian web site...however, it does indicate that gear boxes to increase PTO RPM are available

Thanks for the links guys.
When I have the time I'll go through them.
Somehow I knew that somebody had figured out this kind of problem before me.
Because it was the simplest way I could figure out; a step up in the gearing to the blower.
Nice that someone else has done the homework and engineering.
Now if it's economically feasible.
