Snow Equipment Owning/Operating how many are ready for snow in the northeast..........

I knew I was going to be out of town for the storm so I spent last week getting everything ready so GF would be able to handle anything MN dished out. Snow tires/plow/bed weights for the truck. Snow tires on her cars and my car, chains/rear blade/wide bucket on the tractor. When she left for work this morning at 07:30 she had to shovel 18" of snow to get to the truck. She plowed out the driveway and then started down our private road. When she got to the main road, the town plows had piled the snow up to the height of the hood of the truck. She said she had to ram the pile of snow 4 times before she could break through and get out. She then drove 20 miles to work, road hadn't been plowed in a while, there were no tracks in the road and the snow was 4-6" deep on the road.
I would have called in, stayed home and had another cup of coffee.
It will be interesting to see what mess I have to clean up when I get home on Wednesday. I bet she will have the driveway to the house cleared to pavement, but I bet I will still have to do the 400' driveway to my shop.

I have no intention of letting her get away, the surprising part is, she is a southern gal. Born and raised in Dallas and Atlanta, her family is from a farm in North Carolina and she LOVES the snow and when we retire in 3 years she want to stay in Maine. Go figure... but I am not complaining.

Western Maine it's done 12 to15 goin out and fire up nota after supper I pods charged hope I got battery's for my Bose qc 15s love doin after dark it's also safer I can see traffic comin down the street I got a couple inches last week it packed hard got a good base shouldn't pick up any rocks The little bx and 54 inch pronovost will make short work of it

What a hoot, 12 inches of snow then freezing rain then back to snow. Just finished plowing the subdivision, our driveway and roadways out to the barn and paddock. HUGE difference being able to plow in the weather without having to take a break to warm up or dry off. Loving it!!

I finished up a few hours ago...getting the Subaru and truck out was challenging. The snow was almost as deep as my muck boots.
That nice big deck out back was a pain to clear off too. I've had a heart attack and have no interest in another, so I took my time and a break now and then.
All told, the accumulation was 13-14 inches.

Just finished here as well, light and fluffy turned heavy in no time. Freezing drizzle the whole time.. 4 driveways done. Glad I put the chains on first.

this is what our snowfall usually looks like this time of the year

but so far this year...the ground is bare of snow. We had 6-8" last month, but thats all melted off. Was 40F today.

I kind of enjoy not having to get up a 5am to start clearing snow, but will be sad if we have a brown xmas. i would truly like snow on the ground.

Also, not been able to drive the horses and sleighs, and that sucks.

wunderground is saying 5-8 inches here Tuesday night, ending Wednesday before noon. More fun.

I really don't mind clearing snow, but I don't look at it like some sort of pleasurable adventure either. :laughing:

Must be another coastal storm...they're just calling for a 50% chance here.
