Why be surprised at the backlash to what Phil Robertson said? The world has never liked being called out on sin. Satan the deceiver will never simply roll over. This isn't a new concept. Each and every individual chooses their path. To be afraid to share the gospel because the message is bitter to the unrepentant is not the path Jesus called us to take. Love the sinner by preaching the word, it isn't you they are rejecting, Phil can't take it personal when Satan shoots the messenger, it is the way of the world.
And for the Robertson's the test is do they believe what they preach or not? The money that has come their way is more likely to turn into a curse for their family than a blessing.
2 Thessalonians Chapter 1:

Amen to Phil Robertson!
I think I would have pointed out that this was "equal access" to the networks for a different point of view. In response to all those shows that condone homosexuality etc. If shows like Modern Family, Grace, and those talk show hosts, are continued, even though they might offend folks what difference does his private opinion make? While I am not as blunt or graphic as Mr. Robertson, our society is equating "tolerance" with "acceptance." Our tolerance of others who have different opinions and beliefs should not require that we accept the other's beliefs or premises. It is apparent that there is currently a great chasm between what people believe are "Christian Values."
Hmmm to halt his appearance on the shows seems quite UN-Christian in and of itself.
You wanna be gay? Then be gay. You wanna be a rock star? Then be a rock star. You want to go to heaven? Then follow the way. You want to go to hades? Then I'm certain you can find a way. Whether or not anyone else believes you are going to heaven or **** is just their opinion. Whether one prefers female genitalia over a man's poop shoot is their choice. But don't force your beliefs on me. I might fight for your right to exercise your freedoms, but don't expect me to adopt your method of exercising those freedoms or even approve of all your reasons behind your method of exercising them.

I hope some of the posters here, were not the ones calling for a ban on the Dixie Chick albums. You know, when they exercised their first amendment rights.

Yep - I was kind of thinking the same thing. I at least think it would send a message for freedom of religion and beliefs - he could donate the money to a cause he believes in.

Never have watched the show.....then again....I have found most reality shows to be trash. With that said.....I think this guy has a right to express his opinion.....he's just paying for it because he was under contract which protects the TV station. Fans do not need to worry........the backlash from this suspension will ensure that another network will soon air another show with ole Phil that caters to racist, homophobic and pseudo-religious beliefs. Hard to pass up those ratings........

While i seriously doubt it, if they did they would be outnumbered by the in your face pro gay, anti Christian shows about 10/1.
