Deere 110 tlb hydraulic temp gauge question

/ Deere 110 tlb hydraulic temp gauge question #21
I've only owned my 110 since October. I've run it for long cold days around the yard with moderate loader/bucket/fork use and intermittent light backhoe use. I've yet to see the hydraulic temp gauge move at all from it's cold rest.

Mine doesn't move much and seems to run cool enough even with continuous use all day.

I'd like to at least see mine move. If it doesn't move at all, I don't know if I have an electrical problem or it simply runs that cool. Otherwise, I could cook it and not know I've done that until it's too late. I guess I'll find out in the spring or summer!

I would raise and lower the fel a couple of times and then feel the hard lines to see how hot they are. If the lines are cool to slightly warm you should be okay.

Good morning, you could ground the temp sensor wire lead as mentioned in post #1, then you would know that you do not have an electrical issue, and that they simply run cool... It sounds like it would give you piece of mind, best wishes, and happy new year!

Just purchased a 05 110- today I played around for a few hours and my guage did not move off the pin. I want to ground out the sensor to make sure guage is working. Where is the sensor? Thought I saw one on the filter housing but ran out of time to confirm. Thabks

Yes it is the one on the (large) hydraulic filter, but unless you were 'playing' real hard with high ambient temps (doubtful this time of year for PA), it seems the needle will not move because the fluid never gets warm enough to move it.

Thanks disney. I just picked up the 110 yesterday and was runing easy to get used to controls. Just want to confirm guage works. If I ground out sensoor it should go to hot-correct?

Yes, but I would not leave it grounded for long. I would have to look it up again, but something like 20 ohms was a super high temp resistance value, so direct to ground would have the needle pegged even harder.
