Anybody watch football yesterday? I think Drew is a Philadelphia Eagles fan. I am NOT looking forward to what they will probably do to our Cowboys next week, but I am a super fan of Nice Foles. That guy is so talented that he may be the hope of the Eagles franchise. Of course he has good receivers and McCoy is a jewel of a runner. What is so impressive about Foles is he can be running hard right and throw a perfect strike back across his body to the left. If he stays healthy (and I hope he does), Philly may be a powerhouse team next year.

27* with freezing mist.

Everywhere is a glaze of slick ice strong enough I don't break through. Tried to take the compost out and couldn't get enough traction to walk up the slight slope to the garden. I dug out the Yak Tracs for Sharon's and my boots.

Supposed to have a chance of more freezing rain so I'll wait before getting the tractor out. I'll be busting ice with the tires chains--I hope, and spreading some sand. No way the car is going anywhere until I do something.

Good luck getting power back for those that are out now.

Good Morning. 0955, rain, 57* with 94% humidity. Forecast high of 59* with 90% chance of rain. We have had 1.9" since midnight and looks like it is going to stay most of the day.

We are doing our office Christmas party today. The plan is to smoke a couple of Boston butts. We have a really nice cookshed at work with a covered slab for smokers, and the part time guy has a smoker. But it has a bad tire, so he was going to come in to town at 0500 to get the meat {and baked beans}, and do the cooking at his place. If he doesn't have a shed, the rain will add to the cooking time. But we have all day.

One of my Tampa cousins has a 2000 acre hunting lease up in Georgia with some of his friends. Him and the other four guys built a little one gallon still they use for a couple of runs every winter. They posed for a picture in front of the still and had tee-shirts made up with the picture on the front. Talk about flaunting it.

Everyone have a good day.

what a lovely trip to the supermarket in the pouring rain and fog. I am always amazed at the number of people who don't know to turn their lights on.
A silvery grey car today would be almost invisible.

The rivers are rising. The Ohio River is full up:
The Flood Advisory continues for
the Ohio River at Pittsburgh.
* Until Tuesday evening.
* At 10am Monday the stage was 20.0 feet.

Toppop,
I canoed some of the Dismal Swamp canals in Chesapeake back in the mid 70's and quail hunted an adjacent farm across 17...sure wish I had found your stash. At least it is nice to now know there was hidden treasure so close.

Our still was about 3 miles south of the VA line on the opposite side of the canal from the road. My Uncle Bill lived across the canal from the road in Chesapeake just across from the old intersection of Ballahack RD and old 17, the only way to get to his house was for them to turn the barge across the canal and let you drive or walk across.

Or they may like the Redskins from last year to this year, one never knows.

Good morning all. Cold front went through here Saturday, some icing during family get-together, so left early. Snow flurries Sunday morning now just cold. 22F this morning. Forecast high of 25F the next 2 days, and snow showers on Christmas morning :). Christmas prep down to food and wood splitting.

Jinman, STL has two football teams the Rams and the Lams. The Lams have been showing up to often and losing.:eek: Phily has had the same problem, When they are on, they are on. However the opposite is true as well. If the Cowboy show ready to play should be a good game .

I didn't realize anyone lived on the west side of 17 - that's the Dismal swamp side, and a few farm fields. That's pretty cool. I haven't been down there since they built the new highway.
