I know it's a bit early but winter will be here before you know it. I'd like to buy a vee plow for my new Kawasaki 4010 Mule. I was really impressed with the Boss Vee plow but have read a lot of complaints about the units weight. I've also been looking at the moose vee plow. Are there others I should consider? I'd really like to hear from guys who have either of these units.

I have the American Eagle V plow and I think it's great for the money. That said I'd like to have the Boss for the extra blade height (the Eagle is only 18" plus your rubber flaps...the Boss is 24") and the fully hydraulic operation which would be a very nice thing on some storms.

I actually added Blizzard to the mix as well but not a vee plow. I'm really concerned with the weight. I'm adding a cab an feel that the front end is going to get torn up. What does the American weight?

I believe the Eagle is 100-120 lbs but I don't have a way to weigh it. It's fairly heavy but nothing like the Boss....I'm able to pick it up and move it around alone but it's not something I'd want to lug for miles.

I have the Boss V Plow on my Kubota RTV 1100 and it works great!
I'm extremely happy with it, however it is very heavy, my RTV handles it fine and I think it's a great combo for plowing, not sure how well it works with other UTVs.

Thought I'd show pics of the finished install. All that's left is the cab and dump kit.

Looks good...you've got the first light kit I've seen on one. What did it take to wire in the lights with the Boss light kit?

It's plug and play to add the lights on the plow side, the switch is straight forward as well since it comes with it's own harness. The lights are very bright, since the plow lifts so high I can't imagine being without thens. I also end up doing 90% of my plowing at night so it's a big help.

So there wasn't any splicing at all?

Not really, I should note that I'm an electrician so my perspective may be off. But the lights get plugged into the plow side harness and the vehicle side requires mounting the switch and running a small fused harness to a 12v power source and plugging in(blade terminal) to the vehicle side harness. It was probably the easiest piece of the kit to install. The smart hitch 2 required a more detailed understanding of wiring diagrams. I contemplated tying the aux lights into the switch for my headlights but it's nice to have the flexibility to switch them independently.
