UTV Vee Plow

Not really, I should note that I'm an electrician so my perspective may be off. But the lights get plugged into the plow side harness and the vehicle side requires mounting the switch and running a small fused harness to a 12v power source and plugging in(blade terminal) to the vehicle side harness. It was probably the easiest piece of the kit to install. The smart hitch 2 required a more detailed understanding of wiring diagrams. I contemplated tying the aux lights into the switch for my headlights but it's nice to have the flexibility to switch them independently.

Excellent....now I guess I gotta get on the horn and get some lights coming....sounds like they are exactly what I want.

I have a honest question, most of y'all have tractors, so why not plow or blow the snow with your tractor? Would that not be a more appropriate tool for that task?

Great question, M7. In my case, I don't have a cab on my tractor, but do have on my XUV. I'll still be using my tractor for any place I need the loader, but will use the XUV everywhere else.

I'm grateful to have both, because my tractor is in the shop right now. But it sure was nice to be out of the wind the other day.

The $10.00 windshield I bought from a golf-cart accessory house does a fine job of blocking the cold wind; can't figure out a way to get one of them onto my 3016 (for $10.00) :D

The reason I don't use my International 2544 or my father's BX 1860 for snow removal is speed.....neither machine can come close to the speed of my Gator moving snow. The Gator is also more comfortable than either tractor and can move as much snow as Maine has dished out in a long time.....I've got the International if I end up needing a massive bank mover but since I got rid of my RTV 500 and got the Gator I can move banks back with ease so I haven't needed to use it.

M7, as others have said(and I've experienced) R4's suck in the snow. My driveway is steep and after several slides down the plow toboggan(my Deere) I went back to my atv to plow. I found myself needing a utv over atv so I sold the atv. I've plowed with trucks, tractor, atv's and find atv/utv's do the best job 99% of the time. I thought about adding chains to the deere but then run the risk of damaging the pavement. A cab is on order for my mule so being that my tractor is an OS it makes my decision real easy.

Interesting, I never would have thought Utv's would be faster or more surefooted while pushing snow.

HD called yesterday, I can pick mine up tomorrow. We don't get enough snow to plow, but I am looking forward to it's other non ATV attributes.

Surprised no one mentioned the fun factor as well! I don't have a UTV, but I do dream about them  As well as stop by almost every dealership I drive by and imagine how fun they would be. If I did have one, I'd certainly plow with it based on fun factor alone!

Thought I'd show pics of the finished install. All that's left is the cab and dump kit.

The fun factor goes away after about the second time you have to get up at 3AM to plow before work.....nothing fun about it then. lol.

It is fun now that I don't have to freeze my arse off...Before that, not so much.
