Oh Yeah, cost for the hotel was $80. I'm not sure if that was because Hotels.com send me a discount email and I booked through the email, or if the cost was just that much on a Saturday night. Either way, it's a great price with parking included. We'll pay for parking at the port for the cruise and then just get off the ship and on our way home that much faster and easier. For $16 a night, it didn't seem like there where any deals out there by staying at one of the hotels that offered a package for parking while on the cruise. There probably is a deal out there, but I gave up looking. LOL

We went with the Quality Inn in Gretna. I was hoping to find something in the French Quarter area close to Bourbon Street that we could walk to, but non of them have free parking. Reading the reviews of the valet parking, where offered, where not very good. Gretna looks close enough to take a taxi, or maybe try to find some place to park and just drive there from the hotel to do some sight seeing. We have no interest in the night life, so we'll just be there during the day to explore a little and take a few pictures.

We're still struggling with what we want to do on the excursions. The problem is what to see so we don't do the same thing twice. Coral reef, zip line, Mayan ruins and caving are our goals, finding the right one at each stop is where we are struggling.

Thanks,
Eddie

You would have come out much cheaper if you bought the cruise package at Quality Inn because you could park there free for a week and they would shuttle you across the river to the French Quarter and to the docks.

Norwegian has a couple of good excursions in Belize that do the zip lines and caves or a good Mayan ruins excursion.
In Costa Maya there is a great Mayan ruins excursion.
In Roatan there are many great opportunities to snorkel the reef.
In Cozumel you get off the ship right in downtown where you can walk the beach strip for great souvenir shopping, cheap drinks and sightseeing or find some zip lines or snorkeling but the reefs and ruins are not nearly as good in Cozumel.

You will enjoy the Jewel. I will be on it April 20 when it leaves New Orleans to go to San Francisco.

I was thinking there was a Hampton Inn on St. Charles that had free self parking and you could ride the streetcar to the Quarter. Think they may offer cruise parking?
