Great story, Drew. I went skiing last winter in West Virginia (great skiing there) after not skiing for a number of years. It came back quickly, but just say I was so rusty you could see it stain the snow. I went off the groomed slopes to a deep fresh powder one and made a number of snow Angels (with long skinny feet).

I always loved to water ski, but unless I was summer skiing in Donner Pass or something, snow skiing is too darn cold!

First cup of coffee is poured. 57° with clouds this morning. Heading to 60° with some sun and north breeze to dry things out. Need to get parks tractor to clean up the mess made by getting car stuck on Tuesday.

Well, it's 0742 and snowing pretty hard out there. Reckon I'll keep the deck and walks cleared every few hours and do the plowing later today or tomorrow. If we get more then the 4-6 inches predicted, I might have to use the tractor (rather then the plow on the Gator) to keep the berms back a bit.
Got about 10 gallons of diesel yesterday...plenty of wood for the stove...reckon we're ready.
The bummer is my little toe is pretty painful. Not sure if I bruised it or broke it...but it's tender and will be even more so if I spend much time outside in the cold (minus 1 now and it ain't going to get much warmer).

It's hard to imagine but central south Ohio is braced for a real blizzard of one to three inches. Some are three to five. That's all. Wow.

Having come from a much snowier climate it is surprising what a small amount of snow can do to an area not used to it. Schools are closed or on delay, businesses closed, meetings canceled and probably the supermarket short of the storm necessities of bread and milk. The towns will actually start plowing with maybe an inch on the ground. It is fun to watch, however.

Just got in from plowing out my place, my neighbor's, and out to the main road. Cold here, 10F. I am going to drink coffee and warm up until lunch. Might stay in for lunch - just stay in the house. After lunch, need to put the forks on the tractor to help the neighbor load some stuff up, his grandfather, my neighbor and friend, passed a few days ago.

Good morning all. 16F this morning going to a balmy 20F sunny and strong north wind. 2 1/2 in new snow overnight. Slow warming till Sunday then the COLD front comes through with chance of snow. Monday's high is forecast in single digits. Neighbor has had his 4 wheeler out but more driveways not done.

A balmy 3.5 degrees here...almost tee shirt weather!
Steady snow, but not real heavy yet. We're looking at somewhere between 3 and 9 inches. I imagine with the winds, we'll have pretty good drifting.
Apparently, I broke my little toe somehow so I'm soaking it every couple of hours. The cold makes the pain much worse, so no shoveling the walks or plowing today. After this snow, I'll tough it out to clean up...that will probably be Friday, late morning.

Hope to get my last catchment tank drained and at least removed from old location. Better yet would be cleaned and generally relocated.
Tweaked location of my #3 tank and will transfer some water into it and be ready to plumb it in.
