TSC paint

Any tips on using (or thinning) the TSC paint. It seems that the thickness of the paint varies with different colors. From pretty decent brushing to very "heavy" brushing leaving brush marks that do not flow out drying. The project I am working on now would be better to spray, I am by no means a painter but have spray painted with a hvlp gun. I just don't know how far, or what to use for a thinner. I have some paint thinner & vm naptha stuff as well. From the description on the cans, I'm leaning towards the vm naptha as it talks about making it less likley to run. All the can says on it is to buy the high $$ (their brand) thinner and to add the whole pint to a gallon. That's too much paint for my needs. I realize that this is prolly "cheap" paint but over the years using the older tsc paint and the BPS paint that Central Tractor used to have gave me good results for tractor/implement paint.

All I can say is the new paint is horrible !!!! Loved the old paint by valspar

Yeah I should have done my google search before I posted that question. I did that just after and it seem's to be agreed that the Majic paint is pretty much crap! I did spray some red primer thinned down with naptha today and it seems ok.

Not to jack your question but I have used Rustoleum products for over 25 years with excellent results. Their gloss black paint can be cut with mineral spirits and sprays out well on implements and welding projects. It can be bought in quarts or gallons. The stuff takes forever to dry but once cured oil or gasoline will not affect it one bit.

I agree completely. Never a problem with rustoleum. As long as you don't need to get it in a 'factory' color(IMO, the Majic stuff doesn't match well anyway,) it's great stuff. Tough as nails, and lays down well with a brush or a gun.

Good question. I've never seen any with it in the stores. I'll have to check the label when I get home to see if it says anything about it. Would make it just about bulletproof if you could
