I have a suspicion that if I don't get chains I will need them and if I do get them... I won't!

so i decided NOT to mount my chains this winter, for the first time. first few storms we had were no problem, but this morning i went out to plow ~8" of powder that we got last night and it didn't take long before i got stuck climbing the driveway. luckily i made it out, and into the (unheated) barn i went, and in 10F warmth i got to mount the chains. at least the wind didn't follow me in there. next fall they go on when the deck comes off and the BX goes into "winter dress", as usual. mounting chains the dead of winter is NO fun.

Got chains for my BX for Christmas... now just waiting for snow (I think I scared it away). I went with the 26x12x12 two link heavy duty for the rears only from Tire Chains by TireChains.com. Didn't opt for the V bar but was worried they would just too hard on the cement floor/paved driveway. Hopefully I won't regret not having the V bar on my steep gravel hilly driveway!

nothing wrong with scaring off the snow!

i don't have any gravel, but i've seen v-bars on other machines and i can't imagine running them on my asphalt drive or concrete barn floor. they are aggressive. the heavy-duty 2-links haven't let me down yet!

Last year I bought some Tellefsdal tire chains for my B3030 after many years of struggling up a steep driveway on packed snow. These tire chains are made of hardened steel and are of amazing quality. The Finnish can make a great tire chain.Paid roughly $400 for them but they are quality product and also appear to be indestructible.

I could get by without chains on my B2400 by the difference is significant. This year I added chains to the front because I was pushing a 7 foot Western blade. When pushing snow the front end would slide in turns without chains on the front. The one time I've used the chains on the front I did not have the sliding problem in the turns. Also I did not need the four wheel drive with chains on all four tires. I don't think you can go wrong with chains.

I had chains for the old tractor and it made all the difference in the world pushing snow with a blade. We bought a brand new Kubota BX2670 today and I mentioned putting chains on it. The salesman said, " you wont need them with four wheel drive". I have the chains and I KNOW they work so i'm putting them on when the tractor arrives! You have all proven that point for me!!

I do not use chains at all. Some storms I do not even use 4wheel drive on my BX. I am guessing the difference is an asphalt drive, turf tires, very limited hill, and using a front mount blower. I can't wait for the next storm
