Those were the bikes to have. That is, until Yamahammer came out with the TT500 in 1976.
Then Honda came out with their 500, then they all went up to 600 and it was all happy racing forever after.

Last cross country or dirt bike I rode was my Uncles. He had three and used them to ride fence after his back surgery (thrown by a stallion) kept him off horses. Both a horse and bike were faster (in and out of tough spots) than a truck when riding fence.
A off road bike would be neat after I buy retirement property. Either that or a Kawasucki Mule. A mule would be more useful. A bike would be more fun. Richie Brothers Auctions always have Mules and the like up for auction.

Bman it has been much better.....7 degrees here this AM, 78 in the basement and 68 on the main floor. My instant propane hot water heater that is supposed to be freeze protected froze...or one of the lines leading in or out froze and I even have heat tape on them and a foil backed foam box built around them. 20 min with a propane burner and it was all working again. I didn't think I needed to leave a faucet dripping, but I will from now on.
Y'all have to try a Suzuki DRZ400S.....the suspension is light years ahead of the old bikes we grew up on...mucho bueno

My buddy did up a supermotard WR450. Turned out really nice.
Other buddy bought a Ducati Hypermotard. Awesome bike.
