Just watch till you really get to know them. Had one sneaking my debit cards out after she had watched me to see what the PIN number was. Hit me for about $4500 till I saw bank statement. Placed just a little over 50 felony charges on her. While she was out on bail she did it to someone else. It happened in Oct of2012 and she still has not gone to trial. I did get my money back from banks because I agreed to proscute. Did get the pleasure of helping the State Police of luring her out of hiding after I agreed to take her shopping. When she was jerked out of my car by the State Police you should have seen how big her eyes got. She had gotten into more serious trouble and they needed her to get some information on someone else.
glad you got your money back. i've got nothing like that to steal which is why i was concerned about the cost of dating. i own a farm free and clear and if they want some dirt they can have at it.

I guess the best advice I could give you.. at your age, start as you mean to continue.

Most women, at least the ones that are worth having anyway, know what they want by that age, and aren't shy about saying something. If they haven't got it figured out by now they never will.

If you're not a moonlight, candles and roses kinda guy, why give them the impression you are? If a diner date (yeah, that's diner, not dinner) is your style, then go for it. At least you're being straight with her, this is what she can expect in the future.

Now, I will suggest a diner where neither of you live next door.. nothing worse than friends dropping in and chatting with you (or her!) while you're trying to get to know each other. And if it doesn't go well, having your buddies see you wearing a plate of spaghetti like a hat is a hard thing to live down..

i think this is good advice. the part about seeing people you know when you're out with someone is pretty easy to do around here and i would really like to avoid that. my ex moved to town which in this county is where most of the restaurants are. running into her would be uncool. maybe...

My wife and I love to go out during happy hour time or to a nicer restaurant that has a great selection of appetizers. She loves to have several different (variety) small appetizer dishes (no main course) and a glass of whatever. This is an inexpensive way to have a nice meal, whether casual, romantic, or fancy. We started dating this way the first time I met her... and we still do. She taught me this strategy so it is 'female' tested. Good luck to you.

i'm newly single and i'm going to start dating. but going out seems really expensive these days. i'm not poor but i don't want to become so. I'm a good cook but i think for at least a first date i would want to go out somewhere. i'm 63. i live way out of town and when i factor in the gas to go pick up someone and then go to a restaurant and then do the reverse a date will cost at least $75. what do guys do to keep dating from busting the budget?

Randy - I noticed that you are a farmer from your profile. Check out www.farmersonly.com which is a dating site for farmers only.

You're cheap, nothing wrong with that, I am too. :D plentyoffish is a free site. It used to be a good site but now seems overrun with sweaty bettys. OKCupid is my preferred free dating site. I tried eHarmony for three months... waste of money for me. I ended up with only a couple contacts that went all the way through open communication or whatever it was called. I'm a FB friend with one and she lives too far away so we never went out on a date. The other one was boring to me and not attractive. If you are around women in your daily travels I think meatspace is a better way to meet women.
My last three online dates had me wanting to just leave after 5 minutes. One of them I had conversed with for over a month before we could arrange a date. We got along well on the phone. Nice women but they looked different in person or as I say NO CHEMISTRY. You can't deny that in your face chemistry that happens when first meeting someone. The dating sites can also be a regional thing. My buddy lives about 20 miles from a large city and had lots of dates with eharmony where he met his wife. When I signed on to OKCupid a few years ago it was dead around here but now it has picked up. I usually agree to meet them at some chain restaurant like Applebees etc. I get them to meet me halfway if they live distant. I've had a couple of them that lived over 120 miles away. I offer to pay but if they offer to split I say how about you get the tip and I'll get the rest. Oh and if there's ever a chance she has worked as a waitress you had better tip good if you pick up the tip too.

Get a younger chick. The relationship/marriage might not last but you will have lot of fun while it does.
On serious note: I was matched to my current wife by a mutual friend who figured out we could be good for each other. I took her to Japanese restaurant on our first date (no music there), then I installed a dishwasher for her on our second date (that impressed her), she was great help while remodeling a basement to a play room for a coworker on our third date (that impressed me) and we ordered Chinese take home and ended up in bed together on the fourth date. We had 21 years wedding anniversary last week.
What I want say is that people who know both of you might have good judgment if you would fit together.
