Texas Fall/Winter thread!

Yes, Mueller was AUS. I think Austin/Bergstrom is AUS now too, but like you, I'd need to look. I will before I need to know, but not on the top of my "to do" list, tonight.

Lou; you surf like I do! And even on the sand, I might not stay up on the board! At least with really thin crowds, no one sees when I fall! :D

jinman; I hope when things thaw out, you find the frozen pipes intact, with no leaks.

pacerron; With the brunt of winter hitting you tonight, y'all stay safe and warm.

I froze all day. Managed to get down to 8* before things began that "warm up" for the day. My hands are still not feeling normal, even after being indoors a while and a hot shower. Just tingly, but nothing serious. Another really cold one in the morning, although not predicted to be as bad. I hear just down to 17! No more below freezing temps after that, for at least a week, if weather guessers are correct.

Just poured myself a cup of hot cocoa. Hate to spare the calories, but it sure is good going down. How long until it is warm enough to pick up the hoe and think about planting for the Spring/Summer garden? I'm ready! I'll be glad to say "goodbye winter"!

Austin-Bergstrom International is AUS.

Austin-Bergstrom International is AUS.

I know officially it is AUS, but the locals call it ABIA.

Still cold. Brandi, AUS is in a valley and it usually runs almost 10 - 14 degrees colder than Austin's official temps. So, it is almost always cold there in the winter mornings...recommend an inside hangar job. Traffic is just as bad in Austin as it is in Houston. You can almost always expect delays.

Jim, sure hope you do not get another flood. Our master bathroom has ceiling pipes feeding it. I always worry about pipes freezing. Installed taps that allow blowing out the lines. When it gets real cold outside.

Break out the shorts and tank top!!!

14 here, but once it gets above freezing, should stay above for a spell. Guessers are calling for rain beginning Thursday night, thru possibly Saturday. I won't complain, if temps stay above freezing. This has sure been a crazy late Fall, and winter, so far!

The first one of you that complains about the heat, this summer, will be on my "poop list"!

It will take a few days for my body to get ready for 80° on Friday. Is that complaining?

Yep, you're going to have to turn muffin around, take a picture and change your avatar.:D

Kyle,
Uh..........we don't have a hangar at AUS. Mechanics from HOU cover AUS. Sometimes in a rented Learjet........mostly by van. If we need hangar space in AUS, we rent it for the day or night. I-35 is always inbumper to bumper. I stay off of it.

I have a job I can retire on on the crew I am on now. Now, no more transfer talk.
hugs, Brandi

Now FG, don't go out back to poop and let the hogs eat ya! We were all toasty in our heated hangar last night. When we finished our first plane and parked it outside....someone had to stay on board and monitor the APU and turn the packs on heat if needed....to keep everything nice and ready and not cold soaked. It was a busy night for line mechanics across the country last night. Not much sleepin' time.
hugs, Brandi
