I like it in the fx4 trim. Undecided when it's all chromed out. I can't wait to see what the svt raptor in this body style looks like. Hoping it looks like the Atlas. I think this new truck will be a good multi purpose truck. Like the two ecoboost options.

Im impressed with the weight loss,, But what'll Ford do with all that rust-proof Aluminium.. That has to hurt future sales :eek:

Maybe Ford has come out with an all new, rusting aluminum alloy:laughing: Gotta keep up tradition and all that.;)

It may not rust but the salt sure loves to eat Aluminum. I would rather see composite panels that would flex over Aluminum.

Yes it does. I live on the ocean. Had/have a couple aluminum boats.

Alot depends on what grade of aluminum it is. Around here its either higher grade Stainless, copper/brass or plastic if you want it to last. Homeowner grade cast aluminum lights for example will last for about 5 years at most. They start chalking up after 1 or 2 years.

I have a 2012 150 CC4x4 5 1/2 foot bed. It lives a pampered life and is the vehicle I take out when I'm not working. Or if I'm going on estimates or longer road trips. IMO it would make a good work truck if I planned to pull a trailer. And back on topic, I like the new F150. It looks like Gord spent some time on it to get it right.

Ford will sell more crash parts, aluminum is much harder to do bodywork on than steel.

Collision repair is my first concern too.

Does it take special training, skills, tools to put an aluminum vehicle back together after a collision? Or even simple parking lot bumps and bruises?
