Zero outside this AM. Cold is here to stay.

The issue now is black ice, last night the temp crashed right at sunset and the ER started getting the calls. This AM, I hear the firestattion in the distance responding.

Well it got down to zero last night, but not below. Can't hardly believe we missed the last snow storm and are having a heat wave compared to Tomas and Roy's temps! Roy I would bet you will maybe have to bleed that oil line to the furnace once they deliver that liquid gold!

I was siting here reading Riptides post and looked at my thermostat and it hit -1 as I was watching...

I think in reality is is 1 or 2 outside though.

Yesterday shoveling snow off the gravel drive in 12 to 15 degrees was COLD...

-17 C last night in real degrees that's 1.4F. Celsius makes it feel colder, somehow -17C sounds worse than 1.4F. Got the new shower valve in yesterday turned the water on, good news, none of my solder joints leaked and I didn't set fire to the house, bad news, the thing wouldn't shut off. After a few expletives, and the thought of having to explain that we wouldn't be using the bathtub in the morning, the brain clicked in and I removed the cartridge and reseated it, voila all is well. No explanations required domestic bliss continues. Shower works fine, just have to set the upper temperature stop, now that I figured out what all those extra parts were for. Should be able to build the access door to close up the hole in the closet and put everything back in order. Have a good one and stay warm. The forecast here is for some snow in the next day or so and a little warmer, high of -8C tomorrow.

Got coffee pot brewing. 56° with partly cloudy skies. Heading to 73° with rain later in day when cold front moves down from the north. Need to put things away before the front moves in. Winds should be + 40 mph. Need to get warm cloths out for 1 day of cold. But no freezing temperatures.

In tight spots, I have taken to using Sharkbite fittings. They are similar to the push fittings used for air and hydraulics now in the shops. I've never had one leak. Lowes sells a cheaper one as a "gatorbite" I didn't like those as much.

Good Morning. 1020, sunny, 41F with 47% humidity. Forecast high of 54F today and a low of 29F tonight. It stayed at 28F from 0630 to 0830, or at least that is what weather underground said. Not sure if their equipment was working right.

I'm off to Panama City. The Dr admitted Mamma to Bay Med yesterday and I need to run her a bag of stuff down there. I'm charging my tablet now, so I may log back on at the hospital. Everyone have a good day.

Larro, sorry to hear about your mother; hope she's feeling better quickly. I know it must be a real worry for you.I can tell you from substantial experience reading this blog in many hospitals, it really does a nice job keeping your mind off what you are really worried about.

I am having to learn how to use the touchscreen on this tablet all over again. If I go really slow, it`t not too bad.

Mamma is feeling better, but they still don't know what caused her to pass out. The Dr was just here, and he said it would be at least tomorrow before they send her home. And they might want her to spend a few days in a rehap. We have a good one in Blountstown, so we are hoping they have an open bed.

This is slow going so I will stop for now.

They are rated for hot and cold water. We used similar push fittings for 125 psi air, and another type for hydraulics @ 3000 psi. Not cheap, but nice if you are dealing with a fitting next to a wood joist.

Hello guys...brite sun here and 17 degrees, yesterday at this time it was below zero with a stiff wind outdoors and very unpleasant. Not on TBN much recently, we have been hosting lunch or dinner guests about 3 times a week and the GF is back to teaching part time an hour distant from here. Still, life is good and promising to get better (after I pay the property taxes in two weeks) grumble, grumble. Flipping property taxes cost more than our entire food budget for the year...
