being around farm and heavy equipment and large trailers for decades.....i've never seen a rim you couldn't tube. even split rims. just requires a boot.
Just going by what he said. He was the "GOTO" guy in Southern Ohio with tires for many years. He used to talked about the days they would do school bus inspections and how many tires he would change in a day. I think he would do typically 40-45 in a day - remember this is by hand. And no, that isn't just swapping wheels, that is taking the wheel off the bus, the tire off the wheel, a new tire back on the wheel, and then finally back on the bus.
Here is a picture of him with one of his typical tires that he worked on. BTW, he used to do these without a boom truck.
