I'm looking for a 3 point 2, 3 or 4 row planter without much luck. It has to be in good working condition if not new, as i am no mechanic. I have a Kubota L5740 and already have a good disc and cultipacker, so I don't think the planter needs attached cultivators, as the soil will be prepped.
Anyone know of anything available reasonably priced? My fall back is to hire a local farmer to plant rows for me, but I would rather do it myself. The Yetters look nice, but I can't find a local dealer or any or sale. Same with Covington.
Thanks.

Thanks, Ken. I have been to your ebay store and home site. I have a stupid question about one row planters. What kind of spacing can I get with my 5740 on R4s without preventing germination from the tires running over the freshly planted seeds? I have 22 acres of Thimothy grass that right now is about 2 acres of food plot. My plan for this spring is to go to 4-5 acres of food plots. About 1/2 acre will be all corn, but the rest will be 4-6 row edge strips with soy, oats, clover, etc, all of which I can broadcast. So, the area for the corn planter isn't large at all and I have the time to do it slowly if I can get 30" rows to grow with a one row planter. I can't justify the cost of 2 row and larger I guess, especially since I want either new or "as new".
Thanks for answering a silly ?...

If you set up the single row planter to plant just inside your tire tracks your row spacing can be as narrow as the rear tire. Provided of course your front wheel spacing matches the rear. If not, rows can be as narrow as the area covered by both without running over previously planted rows.

Thanks. I think I get that.

Use either link below to search a radius as far as you care to travel.

Enter "row planter" in the search box. You will get results for all row planters. While looking for something similar, I've seen many 1-2, and even a 3 row planter for sale. There are even a couple ads, where guys are apparently taking large planters and cutting the tool bars down to make 2 row units. What I saw were A-C & John Deere.

Just for the deer. I like turning vegetables into animal protein. I just plant for them, since I would need a 10 foot fence to keep anything for myself with the numbers around here.

Sounds great and beyond my skill level. If it's that good & that inexpensive to make, you could probably sell them for 100% profit (if, say $4k for "new like" and you are making them for under $1k, I believe you could easily sell a quality 4 row for $2k).
I have a disc and cultipacker, so I just need the planters on a 3 point tool bar. I'm not looking for a perfect crop - mainly some height for cover and if any ears grow, that's a bonus.

We got a super deal on the row units an we still had about 8000 in it. But it is a true 1 pass planter. Fert injecters. As well as herbicide an inceticide applicators. But it has paid for itself several times over. At the time we built it an equilivent jd was dang near 30000

Making the Covington one row look like a bargain, I suppose. Talk about being clueless about the market :)
Too rich for me as a hobbiest, but thanks for the info!

I'm in the same boat looking for a small planter. I've been watching craigs list and ran across this one which is less than an hour from my house. I am no expert when it coems to planters so I thought I'd get your opinions. Is this a machine I can still get parts for? It looks like it might not require a whole lot of soil prep but again I am not an expert in this area.
Planter 2row 3pt
Ferguson planter 3pt 2 row 36 to 40 inches. 2 sets of plates, used it to plant sweet corn. New paint ready to go. Have $600. in it OBO.
