We had a pretty good snowfall in SE Mass beginning of January (Thurs into Friday if I recall) My regular days off. My snowblower needed a carburetor, but I have my BX25 going on 4 years now still with under 200 hrs!!!!!. Been very reliable in winter. Covered up with battery warmer. Has always started OK. Always full tank and treatment added. I'll get around to changing fuel filters in the spring. Started moving snow midday that Friday. Tractor ran for about 15 minutes.... Yup. You got it. Sputtered to a stop. Sounds fuel starved. .Hmmm water frozen in filters/fuel lines??? Lesson learned here $$$. Local repair shop couldn't pick it up till Saturday on the flatbed. Asked if there were a snowblower sitting behind the tractor would he take that too. Of course. Sat in a warm garage overnight and started right up. New fuel filters, oil and grease and what the heck, put in the block heater we talked about last year.. Oh and new carb for the snowblower. Only charged me for the pickup and not return trip. $500 lesson learned.... Both start up great. 2 hrs prewarm with the block heater and engine is very warm to touch. 10 seconds glow plug and starts right up. At least now I don't need spring service done. Gotta love New England.. Stay warm and safe out there....
