Ever wish you had more snow?

Sorry guys for taking so long answering your questions, I haven't been following the thread closely enough

Well since we've had an all time snowfall for the month of December when New Year's Eve hit we lost the power five minutes before midnight and we went through a full week of power outages in the coldest weather we've seen in years along with blizzard conditions. There were even ward up centers set up for people to go to. Sure glad we put in our generator and generator enclosure last fall, we were just as comfortable as if we never lost the power at all.

Timberxx I built the custom shelter/inclosure for the generator. Here's a video on it. It's the strangest winter. In the last 12 days it has gotten so warm that we've lost 101 cm's of snow. You now have to look hard to see any on the ground. One week we are shovelling off the roofs of our buildings and last week we walked out on the bare grass and picked up our Christmas decorations and it's still raining.

I am ashamed of you . Look at the splatter and chunk of wire on the right hinge . That is not you . Nice build . We finally got to 20f today . How bout you ? I enjoy your vids .

It's cool to look back at the start of this thread and see the pictures from 12/22/13. I think the day before was the last time I saw my grass, seems like I've got my wish for the last 6 weeks straight now.

Tonight before dark we had about 4 more more inches with steady snow still falling. More quality seat time scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Well Milkman: I hope you're happy. We must be close to one another... It's been a winter I won't forget. I have to go back to the mid 70's to remember snow like this. Now they are talking about several more inches Tuesday into Wednesday.

The Sow was HEAVY today for sure!!!!!!

Another 3" of snow last night at my cottage at the East end of Muskoka, North of Toronto. According to Environment Canada, the Muskoka region has gotten some some 375 cm. of snow as of January 28. That's over 12 feet, guys!

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful.... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" I love it, and the tractor loves it, so what else matters?

Actually, I am getting a little sick of shovelling off the deck. (Tractor is a wee bit heavy for that!) Maybe I'll hire one of the local kids to do that from now on, and just enjoy the relaxing seat time, as the blower does its work.:confused2:

So, here is what I do NOT want to clear every time I come to the cottage. IMG_4314.jpg

Dang! What is the average annual snow fall up there?

Well, keep in mind that this is a record year fro snowfall in Muskoka (and a lot of surrounding areas as well. The average is less - only about 11 feet. Why, is that a lot?

Meanwhile, the snowmobilers up here all think they have died and gone to heaven!:cool2:

Livingston county reference. I've always been into extreme weather, the more the better. This time I almost feel like I've had enough. It might be that I'm no longer working from home, (no time to deal with it). It might be that I turned 50 last week and am now a curmudgeon. Maybe it's those stupid R4's and I'm getting stuck every time I go off the driveway trying to make room for more snow. I don't know. I have a feeling if we were expecting a 20" snowfall I'd still be very excited. The last big one my employer closed for 2 days. The 2-5" snowfalls are just getting annoying.

well we finally seem to be getting some snow again. Have had over 1 foot in past couple of days. Its also snowing right now, though lightly. According to the "experts" (ya right) we are due for heavier snows tonight. then a cold spell (-8F) for a few days then 3-4 days of heavy snow. well see.
