grs, I've seen your pics before and those are impressive snows. Last night was just a few inches. We had a good foot more snow on the ground a couple weeks back but the winds have blown alot of it away. I live in a fairly flat agricultural area with lots of open spaces and not much to stop the wind from blowing. My house faces west and sits about 8' above the road so the wind usually helps to keep things more shallow in the front. We have some waist deep snow on the backside of my little hill where the wind dumps it in the woods, which is a rare thing for us.
In the northern parts of our state nearer the lake shores I've seen 42 and 48" snow fall events, but they taper off this far south and inland. Six solid weeks of snow cover with no signs of thawing in the next 10 days is also very rare for us. Usually our cold stretch runs about 4 weeks between thaws. We have a genuine winter this year. Who knows, it may actually follow the calendar this year and last the whole 13 weeks???
