Congratulations on your new tractor, I like the Masseys and we have an old 375, but our dealer is hit and miss, mostly miss, so I didn't seriously consider them when I bought mine.

I was out in the snow and freezing rain yesterday in one of our cab tractors and you just can't beat them. I have added some protection as we use ours in the woods and I know they aren't practical for everyone, but if a person can use one, I highly recommend them.

Got any pictures of the protection modifications you added? I'm certain I'll break something on mine sooner than later, the tractors are meant to work and I use them as such!

Actually took out a policy with State Farm, its called the Inland Marine rider. Cost me $1.25 per hundred of the value... but that gives me collision protection anywhere I go, with no deductible. Works out to about $32 per month. Not cheap by any means, but the first time I replace a $1000 door, I'll be happy I got it.

......

Oh here's something interesting, as we are always talking about rebranded machines on this forum....

I knew Iseki builds Massey's SCUT/CUT lines, but turns out Iseki sells their own branded twins as well, just not here.

Mine is actually a TG5470.

Here you go, I need to take a picture of the whole tractor; brother did all the work with $200 spent on steel.

I am sure you will be happy with it and the cab. I looked at one when I got my P7010 but wasn't too happy with the layout of the hydraulic controls. They seemed to be too far behind me. What transmission did you get? I was going with the QPS which may not have been a good idea, I haven't seen anyone review them favorably.

TripleR, thanks for the photos, great idea. Looks like I have a project to plan!

Gary, I went with the HST. That DynaQPS looks cool, but I've gotta stick with hydro. I agree with you about the location of the remote lever. I originally wasn't liking the position of the three point lever either, because I'm used to it being lower on my LS. But now that I'm used to that, I like it more. The remote lever location for the new cab series from LS is almost as bad as the Massey.

I'm actually planning to add a third function remote button for the loader joystick, since I mainly use my remote for gravel work anyhow.

I sure like seeing all the new Masseys. Nice tractor.

That is a very nice new ride. That cab sure does look attractive, but like James mine are paid for.......and it's hard to give that up.

So how long have you owned the LS?

TSO: congratulations on the new tractor! I had looked at the MF, the closest dealer is also a JD dealer and only had two small units, the next dealer was over 100 miles from me, nice tractor, but he wouldn't budge on price and had a used cab Kubota that he was real high on, 6 months later he still has 'em both! I took delivery of the XR4040 and while I really liked it, felt that it was short on power and while the dealer made me a smoking great deal ( he didn't have a 4046, and said it would be around June before he could get one unless he could another dealer to give one up) so I took the XR3037, I really like it on my small 10 acres, the cab is super, and with the less weight of the 4040 and even loaded rear tires, the turbo gives it a lot of power at 6300 feet elevation, I was plowing last Saturday and Sunday in shirt sleeves and it was below freezing outside! I was almost ready to buy a JD3520, this is about the same only a lot less $$, if I decide to get more power, I will look at the XR4046, a used JD4320 and I will look at the MF again. Thanks for your observations, enjoy the new tractor and especially the cab!!!

What ever you may get in the future, don't even consider anything that does not have a turbo on it. You are high enough that you are loosing about 18% of your power with a naturally aspirated engine. ;)

Hey Buddy, still waiting for some pictures of that new cabbed LS !

Want to see some neat engineering, look under the roof of a cab tractor, we installed a radio in my new XR3037, there isn't enough room to drop a nut or paper clip in there with all of the HVAC stuff up there!! Pretty neat set up and it's really full, also after 30+ years plowing snow in all kinds of weather! blizzards, blowing snow and did I mention wind driven snow(lol) just to make sure the driveway and sometimes the county road was clear just so that we could go to work! the cab and heater on this tractor makes me wonder what I wasn't thinking all of these years, it's really nice to have! Enjoy your new tractor and cab!!

Very nice tractor, the cab makes me jealous since I'm about to head out and plow the driveway. It is an impressive difference on the loader height, the pictures really show it. Enjoy the new machine.

how difficult was it to remove the roof on your tractor? I want to tighten my work lights on my xr4046hc and took the outside ring of nuts off but it didn't come off so I stopped. Weather was turning bad, I didn't want to get too involved and not be able to finish.

TSO, congrats on the new tractor. Massey just isn't a big player in our area and there weren't any dealers that close to me, so I never really considered them. Looks like a very nice ride you have there.

You will LOVE that cab. For me, it was more about protection from the summer heat, skeeters, wasps and dust. That theory was proven when, shortly after I bought it, I hit a yellow jacket nest somewhere and they were buzzing around my cab. I was inside the air conditioned cab and just flipped the finger at them. Oh, and I love listening to the radio while I'm working too.

Sometimes I do miss the "connected" feeling of an open station tractor, though my little BX23 scratches that itch when I get it.

Hey Buddy, still waiting for some pictures of that new cabbed LS !

Gents: maybe I can some pics tomorrow, I got the 3037 delivered on Wednesday last week, we received 7 inches on Thursday afternoon, another 2 that night, snowed off and on on Friday for about 3 more, plowed with it Friday am, again on Saturday afternoon, went around and behind the barn on Sunday and then the cold and snow hit again.......all week, Tuesday morning was -21, Wednesday am was -15, Thursday am was -15, went out to check the barn last night after the news at 10:30 it was -1, when I came back in about 30 minutes later, it was +16!! Today was the 1st day over freezing in a long time and tomorrow it's supposed to be 50!! Try and get some pics tomorrow around the melting snow! Great tractor, the cab could be on anything because with the heater, I am really pleased with it, and oh yeah, the tractor is alright too!!

Congratulations, that is a very nice tractor!
My neighbor told me yesterday I would have "work" to do today..we are supposed too get more snow.
I told him, you work, I play, he plows his place with an open station.
It just doesn't seem like work when you are nice and warm, listening to some good tunes, pushing snow at night, it is enjoyable for me actually.

Nice summary of your selection process, I know it was challenging! I do wonder how much of the XR hydro whine can be attributed to the cab, and maybe oddball dynamics other manufacturers have solved? I recall the DK50SE cab I tested was clearly louder than my LS....could be something to that.

Good luck with the Massey...it has a lot going for it!

   / Bought a new tractor ... will be selling my R4047 #38
I purchased the xr4046hc and I have very little hydro whine. mine is a cab model, maybe it was the particular unit you were in. just a thought.

I didn't open it up, the tech had it open to check all of the connections and to install the radio, he showed me that there are 4 bolts holding it down, nits hinged at the back and on the right rear there is a substantial prop today to hold it up, I wouldn't open it outside in case the wind would get it, it is heavy as it's a blue cover over a metal cover and then there is a metal base where all of the HVAC stuff bus, the headliner that you see inside the cab, is a cover over the metal pan, I believe all of this is part of the certified ROPS
