4110- 3 pt hitch wont raise

Is that the Allen screw with the lock nut on it? Anything is possible given it was in a small Rubbermaid tote. Do you think the FEL changing the rpm is even possibly related?

Yes that screw controls how much spring tension is against the spool valve and the spool valve movement controls flow for lifting lowering and centering. Shop manual says the screw/locknut adjustment shouldn't be touched during disassemby. The loader control valve is stacked after rockshaft and pb block so it could very well be.

I went from full open, to full close, to about 5 stops in between, with no differences.

I'll take a look at he screw and see how war in or out it is. It was out of the unit, I know that

Thanks for the suggestions on this. I'm liking this machine, but it's certainly got more on it than my 335 or 425. At least my FEL is working for snow removal

So that screw is flush with the lock nut on the front of the valve.

Well as far as I can see shop manual gives no assembly position except to mention not to remove it from plate. but it gives the procedure for set screw adjustment...with engine fast idle, oil at operating temp with weight (500lb) on lift arms, rockshaft control lever at mid point. Loosen locknut turn screw counter clockwise till arms sway turn back clockwise until sway stops add 1/2 -3/4 turn lock down.

Me thinks a shop manual is a worthy investment if you like the tractor.

I got such a screaming deal on it, given some was in pieces, parts were in boxes, some good rust from using it to salt walkways, I have a lot of room to put some money into it and still have paid half of the CL prices I'm seeing.

Would a 5' box blade be close enough to 500 lbs?

What would a fast idle be?I'm considering idle to be just under 1000 rpm from what I'm seeing if that's correct

I think that 500lbs figure represents about half the lift capacity of the three point hitch. Idle speed is listed @1000rpm. I would say 1500 rpm or so for fast idle.

It can be kind of confusing but Deere refers to fast idle when they are talking about WOT.

When you said the throttle raises when you operate the loader, it makes me think the hydraulics are operating in relief and when you use the loader, the oil can flow and it takes a load off of the engine. If you let the loader raise all the way and hold the lever in that position, does the engine go back to the same speed? The engine probably sounds like it is running free when raising loader and under a load when not raising? Sounds like something is not plumbed properly.
