Not sure on how it came down to the valve as the issue. I rebuilt the valve based on pics from the service manual. I had all of the pieces. I know I can buy at least most of the internal components for it. I have not trid the sensitivity screw, but can today.
My next question is how does fluid move through this system? Is their a relief on the pump? I'm ordering the manual today, have to order the paper copy since I don't own a computer w a cd drive anymore.
Oil is fed into the rockshaft housing you can follow the pump piping to see where. From there its all internal. There are pressure reliefs in the valve itself plus you also have a system relief on top of the rockshaft housing. Pretty much under the seat by the SVC. You need to do a system pressure check. If the system relief was stuck open you hear it I would think.
Inside the valve you rebuilt was a long control spool its direction is hydraulically moved when you operate the lever to raise and lower the lift arms. It allows oil to flow in and out of the lift cylinder and also blocks oil release to maintain cylinder position. That's pretty much how it works. I'm also thinking maybe the spool cannot correctly move if the screw is to tight.. Back it out and see if the arms begin to sway. Seems to me even with some worn parts the rockshaft would still operate but probably not hold position if the control valve operation is correct
