Buying a new GN trailer: tilt or deckover?

Thanks for the link. That was quite a discussion, but mostly about low deck between-the-fenders type trailers or deckovers that had a 4-5 foot dove on them.

Even some of the guys there were remarking about the heavy weight of the slide-ins. I can't imagine what handling 8 ft ramps suitable for the loads of a 14-16K trailer would be like. And then you have the prospect of driving up those ramps onto a deckover, I just don't know what it would be like and if it's a good idea. What's the typical deckover, approx. 36 inch off the ground?

If the slide-ins are built strong enough to be stable, they wouldn't be any harder to drive up than fold ups and a dovetail.

And if they are long enough to offer the same angle onto the trailer.

I did the slide on ramps thing on a low boy that my grandfather in law borrowed me. No thanks ever again. I didn't like riding a wheelie onto the trailer! (Wouldn't have done that if I left the loader on, but I took it off to save towing weight with the MX6 attached)

Anyway, stopped at the trailer dealer today on the way home from DFW and I'm 95% sure I'm going back to get this trailer early this week:

Feels nice to have finally made up my mind. :D

I think Dexter is an extra cost option shown on the website. The brochure calls the standard axles Posi-lube axles. Anyone know if you have to special order Dexter at extra$$? I've seen something called E-Z-Lube with Dexters.

All the PJ trailers that I have looked at with 14K GVWR or more have had Dexters standard equipment. (Probably well over 10 trailers that I've looked at in my search)

U sure about that they use quality axle axles . Or my two with dual tandems are quality axle brand .

Thanks, it's a 25+5. I was really thinking the 20+5 size would work for me, but the more measuring I did, the more I felt the 25+5 would suit me better.

This is the first 5' Dovetail PJ Powertail (Hydraulic Powered Full Width Flip-over Ramp) that I have seen.

Isn't that thing sweet?! If I had a monster truck to pull it, and a monster wallet to pay for it, if buy that thing in a heartbeat.

They have some videos on PJ's website showing them lifting a 105hp case MFWD tractor on the hydraulic dove alone. Pretty sweet.
