Drew, I would have to get chains to deal with 2 feet of wet snow 12-14 in. seems to be my max, and get that by using the front loader and rear blade.

Good afternoon all. Weather went south of me so all I get are cold temps :( -2F this morning, sunny and high forecast of 22F. Warming through the weekend. Database is "haunted" at work, will have to call support not-fun.

That database has kept you busy. What flavor of dbms software are you using?

Database is "haunted" at work, will have to call support not-fun.

I managed an online search company for about ten years that did all the certified accurate judgment and lien
searches done for the local PA and NJ real estate title industry. Large databases, high end server rooms, refrigerated this, offsite backup that.
You screw it up, you pay for it. five million dollar house and you missed the
underground tank spillage? tough, eat it. so depending upon how accurate that database is, corruption I hope is not the issue, most
hauntings are never something to take lightly.

Good luck. The problem with fixing these things is you really have to be a code detective, fixing it is one thing, finding why it broke is another.
Does your ghost have a name? I know...WO 123, but internally, sometimes if you gave her a name and speak nicely to her she will leave quietly.;)
Probably one good reason why the owner ran the software and hardware dept, I got everything else. The IT folk had an almost open checkbook in maintaining
that database, it was fun to watch and nightmare when you shut down the entire state's title industry. Lots of people unhappily tapping their toes while you are down.
Never again, too stressful, I went to Florida, chucked my suit and was a yacht broker for three years in Ft. Lauderdale. I needed a serious switch. It was fun for a while as most of these things are. But I needed a real job and we came home. Back to the grind.

Most of you guys have worked a ton of places. Myself, I started an electrical apprenticeship at GM when I was 20, worked there 6 years until I got laid off then came to my current job and been here 24yrs. I'm at a point in my life where retirement is only 7 yrs away so when I'm offered a job elsewhere I see no reason to leave and start over.

Gary, except for going from duty station to duty station in the Military, I've always left one job for another due to major increases in salary. It's hard to turn down a 25% increase and better benefits. My last job lasted 19 years. I would never have retired as early as I did except for going to work daily and finding a "mine-field" awaited me. I certainly understood Shakespeare's quote from Romeo and Juliet that "Parting is such sweet sorrow." Leaving was hard, but the best/only thing for me.

17*F, sunny with a steady breeze. May go to -5*F tonight, then warmer air being pushed ahead of the storm moves in. The snowfall totals for Thursday-Friday are 7" to 14". That would be a normal snow here. I can live with that, especially the lack of ice in the forecast.

They sure are hyping this storm in the south. I hope it is nowhere near as bad as they say it could be, but people do seem to be preparing better this time.

Good Evening. 1925, rain, 52F with 89% humidity. Forecast low of 48F with 70% chance of rain tonight. Tomorrow's high is forecast as 51F with 100% chance of rain, and tomorrow night's low 37F with 60% chance of rain. The rain was later getting here than predicted. It was almost dark when it started. And the cold is passing us by.

The storm is in Mississippi right now, soon to be in Alabama and on to Georgia. Good luck to Brin and the rest of you up that way.

Most current models are predicting 14 to 20 in up the I81 corridor starting tomorrow afternoon thru Thursday Georgia SC and NC to get pounded as well. This will be a dangerous storm with daily routines change for several days. A little light at end of tunnel big spring like warm up for next ten days starting next week but and there seems to always be a but cold weather will return end of Feb thru middle of March with more snow. Sorry

We lost Neil Bonnett twenty years ago today. He was one of the famous Alabama Gang, and always one of my favorites. He died at Daytona, driving for James Finch's Phoenix Racing, a Panama City team.
