Update. I didn't get this done yesterday. I did go at it again today to completion. Had problems with loader mainly due to my tooth bar getting in way. Used BB to peel layers one pass at a time. When full I lifted it drove forward and then pushed it while turning Until off the road edge. Then I'd line back up and start again. Once I started getting close to gravel and sometimes a little into it, it started to melt and slush up. This is when I used the loader. Curled bucket up and used rear edge in float mode to really clean it up. Next time snow like this is forecasted I will get some lumber and try to build a plow board to push snow with fel. Thanks for the input. Was fun seat time for sure. And as an added bonus, my tractor is much cleaner now , especially the fel and bb.

Now that you're an "expert" at snow removal you can move north and feel right at home.

I actually grew up in Michigan right off Lake Huron until I was almost 13. We had to shovel the drive because Dad was too cheap to buy a snowblower and he had 5 kids "so he wouldn't have to shovel anymore". I had plenty of shovel experience, but zero tractor in snow on hills experience since that part of Michigan is flat as a board. I must say I did enjoy the experience. Probably won't happen again here to that degree for another 30 years.

IF I had 5 kids I would be cheap too and make them all shovel. It builds character.:D

I guess I had 5X character. My little brothers came along a bit late to be of much help. I had to shovel alone and babysit them.

And the classic: "You better get that grass mowed before your Dad comes home."

I didn't have any brothers to help shovel and no sisters to help with the 1/3 acre of grass I had to cut every week, either. But that is what built the character I am now.

We don't get a lot of snow in my part of Virginia, maybe 1-2 storms a year. The last two storms were 6" in January, and I plowed my 650' driveway with my L3200 and a rear blade. The first storm I did it in three passes, the second storm only two, and it was all over in about 10 minutes. Fun, but over too quick!

I really like the storms that dump about 24+" of snow in one go. I would prefer to have them about twice a week for the whole winter. That would make a lot of ground water for the spring and the winter would be warm.....No -40F temps to deal with.

(I was thinking just making two passes with the loader scooping the snow into the bucket and backing up and turning and dumping by the road side as I go. Is this a good plan? How often should I do this? Every 4" or so?)

Your best bet is to put a snow shovel over your shoulder and head South. When someone asks what you have on your shoulder settle in!
