Woo Hoo! :cool2: :drink:

Just paid off the 60 month loan with Kubota Credit on the tractor yesterday - 14 months after I bought it. Now it's time to spend some money on attachments! :D

You had 0% interest and you paid it off that early? Curious as to why I don't like payments either but I would have put the money I owed them into something else and held out the full 60 months.

I have some rules:

New vehicle 48 months max UNLESS 0%.

Used vehicle 36 months max UNLESS 0%

It just works for me, I hate payments. But congrats on paying it off early!

Regards, Fred

Did I mention I hate payments?

Last summer I flirted with a new L3200 before coming to my senses. I ran the numbers both ways, and the 0% would have cost me 8% over cash price. I would guess cars and trucks are in the same ballpark. With the low {almost no} interest rates on CD's and savings it makes sense to pay cash if you can. But if you can't, I'm all for paying it off early.

I think your missing something, some where. Re think your math and repost. Think 5 years which is 60 months vs 1 year 12 months. Also reconsider 0% interest on that early pay off even if a cd only pays under 2%. or even 1% or even 1/8th of a % being more than 0%. Not sleep factors, well being feelings, think math which is the post you responded to. Now feeling good is another factor which I believe the original post was about but you jumped in responding to the purely math post. :D

0% financing would have cost me a 9% premium on $17k. Put some 'money market' bucks down and borrowed against shares at my CU at 3.01% and no paperwork or care for what I bought with it that way. A smaller loan and extra payments will hold my o'all int to only a few 'hun'. btw: IMO, CDs earning < loan rates should be er' 'converted to diesel' or to hardware at maturity. ;)

There is no $$ saved when paying current 0% loans down early. Interest was prepaid by folding it into the price at signing. Once you're into that deal there's no financial motive to pay a dime a day early.

I'd recommend getting a SS or JD QA FEL for versatility. Also wonder if BH subframes ever clear mower decks. (separate machines for me) I suspect a good logging tractor might be a bit heavy for mowing a 'nice' lawn. Trying to do both may not allow doing either as well as intended. JMHO
