Good Morning;

This may be an off the wall question, but I own a BX1500 and work on a B3200 (new, 90 year old father-in-law). Both have Front mount snow throwers, and both lower one side to the ground before the other. Is this normal? I say this is strange because this is my 3rd winter with my BX snow thrower.

I'm assuming you're not talking a huge difference.

Could it be the front tires at different inflations or with different wear pattern? If it's baked into the hardware you could always correct at least up to a half inch I'd guess by deflating the high side? No experience with snow blowers here (for sure) but just brainstorming a bit.......

are you on a perfectly level site when you make the observation? is this true w/other ft. end implements, namely bucket? what type of attach do you have on forks, QR? once when i was attaching my bucket on my QR forks, (on unlevel ground, dumb me) one side mated, the other did not. i lifted the bucket briefly. this caused the same problem as you describe. i was able to make an adjustment to correct (using the hydraulics on my own) that i will not describe, but it corrected the problem. just a thought good luck

Front tires won't matter at all in this situation. If one tire goes flat, the tractor front dips 1/2 way down, but stays level because the rear tires determine level. The front will just rock one way or the other. Is there any type of adjustment to make on the lift arms / mounts?

Make sure the rear tires are the same pressure.

The snow blower should be used in the float position so it should be level when being used. If the sub-frame were off that might cause an uneven tilt of the blower but it shouldn't matter when using the blower in float.

I suppose then it's like a three legged dog and you are most probably correct.

Both tractors have factory sub frames and hook ups. On my BX1500 I found that the angle was not a problem when I put the blower in float position. i am going to check the B3200 to see if the same applies.

When I read the post, it imp[lies that when lowering the blower to the ground, one side goes down sooner than the other. That's the way it works when on side is heavier than the other and/or one cylinder's hose equivalent length is longer than the other. It also might be that one side cylinder has more friction that the other. Woopee-do. It does eventually float to the ground, eh ?

If its a hydraulic flow issue, then tractor waxers would change the parts necessary to get equivalent flow in both lines, hence an equal drop rate. This prevents their wives from criticizing the way the machine appears to the members (and drive by potential members) of the neighborhood community association.

Gotta disagree with you here. I have a front mount on the b2920 and front tire pressure WILL affect level as the subframe and frame both have some slop in it; therefore rear tire pressure is important but not the only factor that determines level.

Also the quick hitch does get some movement in it after a few seasons use.

How wide are the blowers? 50 and 63"?

Make sure all mounting bolts on the frame/subframe connections are tight. The 2large bolts that hold the front quick hitch spade to the subframe assembly have come loose on me in the past and even galled to the point of needing replacement.

Don't know what your usage patterns are like but I do up to 50 residential drives per snowfall and this happened the second season. Currently on my sixth season with the setup.
