23 degrees and they say it will come close to 50 degrees, today
We had heavy rain early last night but still heavy cover of snow.
The guys did some snow moving around yesterday so that helps with the slush

35 right now....high of 41 predicted and clear.
I'll be scraping the walks and drive in a few hours...once the frozen slush lossens up a bit

24*F, clear and calm. Driveway is an ice slick but should soften up quickly. I don't think most of it will enough slush depth to scrape, I had it down to bare gravel in most places before yesterday's precip.

Sodamo, the panel mounting looks like it went well. I'm sure you earned some hot tub time. :)

Good Morning All.

There were never any marsupials in NZ until the introduction of the possum.

But it's the same with the Mongoose introduced to Hawaii in 1883 to control rats and snakes or the cane toad into Australia in order to control the Cane and the Frenchi beetles. Back in those days there was not too much thought given to what could happen in the future.

We also have introduced the rabbit, goat, deer and wallaby which are in the wild, not in great numbers, but are controlled to a degree (well, not so much the rabbits) :)
Nobody has 'wild' animals (lion tiger, bear) as pets which could escape and we have NO snakes.

I guess I'd read about the small wallaby herds and assumed they were native, I see now they aren't. Sorry for the mistake.

Morning to all, 30F heading to 38F. Just figures, possum around and as soon as I get a trap it is nowhere to be found. Maybe it already got run over on the road.

Thanks, it did and it didn't. Took longer than expected. Neither of us are real roof Monkeys LOL. Only got 2 arrays up and secured. Have to build the other two today and hopefully lift in place tomorrow.

Good morning all. Missed the morning temp with the excrement this morning. Heading for 59F today (sunny) and then a ratcheting down till we get a high of 24 on Wednesday. Wife hurt her back yesterday but insisted on taking a friend to the hospital this morning (heart problems?). Waiting to hear back and working little stuff like paint prep on second closet half, repainted two 30 yr old reflectors etc.

US mens hockey team just lost Bronze metal game to Finland 5 to 0. After all their goals they scored in the perliminaries, wrong time for their scoring to dry up. Canada on the other hand has had problems scoring all tornament so I hope they explode with goals in the Gold metal game against Sweden.

Good Afternoon. 1310, sunny, 68F with 40% humidity. Forecast high of 70F this afternoon, and a low of 49F tonight.

Yesterday morning's thunderstorm was one for the ages. Margie goes by McDonald's for coffee with a few of her friends every weekday morning, and she said the water was so high it came in the restaurant. But once the storm passed through, it turned out to be a very nice day. Today is more of the same.

No worries.
It wasn't until about 30 years ago that I learned that we had some here. Since then I have only ever seen 2 (about 3 years ago) as they crossed a forestry road we were walking down.

Jim, I think the o'possums from down under have a lot more fur than ours in the southern USA. Ours look like a raccoon with mange. The iconic photo or drawing of them is in a persimmon tree in the fall when the persimmon crop is huge. I don't know what percentage of their diet is persimmons or other fruits/nuts, but certainly they have to eat something in the winter if they don't hibernate. Perhaps they store away acorns and nuts in hollow trees and winter over there.

Gary, I think team Canada took all the wind out of the USA team's sails. Canada's strategy worked perfectly. I wish them luck in their Gold Medal game with Sweden tomorrow.

Mid-40's today and sunny. 37F now.

Our Ford was so caked with road sand it hurt me to look at it. :) I gave it a quick wash this morning. Sharon went out today, then I went into town later; now I can't tell I washed it. :( The wash didn't last 12 hours. It is charcoal colored, but that car has always been a dirt collector.

Cleared a lot of snow of the house roof today since it was a great melting day. Plowed out the dog walking path. Managed to lose a clevis link from my tire chains. I'll put it back together with a screw-together link. I should hunt down some spare clevises.
