I think the reason that fluid comes out the valve stem is when it is at the bottom it gets filled with fluid then when the valve is it the top it still has some in it. What I do is shoot a little air in the valve before checking the tire pressure to blow the fluid out of the valve. If your valve is submerged when it is at the top this will not work.

That does make sense, and the shot of air is a good idea. Yeah the valve stem could be full from the rotation. But I've put in almost 2 gallons more than the most generous recommendation you've cited. I still get a mix. If I only put in the 8 or 8.9 cited, I should get almost all air. The fact that I get air at all indicates I'm certainly not way beyond the 75% value. To me, that indicates the Rimguard recommendation is low.

Can anyone comment on BX valve stems? Will I need new, metal ones ?
Also - for mowing - will the added weight damage my precious (laughing) lawn ?

I found a local outfit that uses methanol/water to fill tractor tires. About $135.00 for 18 gallons filled. That would give me 144 lbs. as low as you can go if I use RimGuard's data or 160 lbs. if I use conventional wisdom (10 gallons per tire). Closest RimGuard dealer is 1.7 hours away, so local is a better deal, I think that weight down so low should be adequate.

I had to replace BOTH of my rears tire stems after I had rimguard in for about a year and half. It seems like kubota stems wasnt as good as the ones I picked up at auto store. The metal screw on part that is supposed to be molded in came right out on one stem and the other started leaking in simalar spot and I caught it on time. I havent had any more issues since I replaced the stems with newer rubber stems for over 3 years now.
The lighter your mowing machine is the better of you are going to be but sometimes you have to make a compromise.
