Pulling car out of snowbank

That brings up a question.

How do you hook a looped strap to a modern car stuck in a snowbank?

I would think the question is moot because there is usually nothing to hook ANYTHING to. :laughing: Last time I used a strap with looped ends, I ran the strap through both rear alloy wheels on the stuck vehicle and then put both loops over the hitch ball on my truck. Only needed a light pull, otherwise I would have been reluctant to help the stuck guy. His car wasn't really mired, only hung up a little. I know they say not to use a hitch ball for attachment points but the ball was 2 5/16" and rated for 10,000 pounds.

Sometimes you don't have to pull them out.
One night coming home in my little chev prizm, i spy a large 4 wheel drive pickup stuck in the ditch next to the road. So i stop to see how the driver is doing. He said he was fine and had a buddy coming from town that would help him pull his truck out of the ditch. After looking things over, i said i might be able to get him out but it might cause a little more damage to the sheet metal on the side down in the ditch. He looks at me, then looks at my little prizm and says 'ok'. He had his front wheels all the way crank to the left trying to get back up on the road, so i asked him to straighten so he was only turning to the left just a bit and voila, he drove right out of the ditch. The guy was dumb founded! I told him that if he had been stuck as many times as i have.....:laughing:

You shouldn't be to surprised.

If he was smart, or at least knew how to drive, he probably wouldn't have wound up in the ditch in the first place. :confused3:
