This has probably been covered but last Friday night my granddaughter got stuck in a snow drift with her ma's car. When I got there the wind was really a howling and was plenty cold. I shoveled out under the car and had a hard time finding a place to hook up my strap. I think when they build these overpriced cars they should have a safe place to hook a strap to.

I agree. I have tried to help a few people but was not comfortable with a secure attachment point. Pretty much need a BIG hook like the tow trucks and find a suspension arm to attach.

I took a big hook with me but there was no holes in the uni-body frame, it is a 2012 Chevy Malibu.

I am taking our car into dealership soon for oil change and going to ask them for hook up points for hooking chains in case i have to pull with tractor.

Not sure if it's ok but I have seen the recovery strap tied to a wheel to pull from.

Why don't you just get her driving lessons ? I'd make HER shovel the car out. There probably are hook up points under there, but they are also sources of corrosion and would be well hidden by the snow bank. Just don't hook onto a tie-rod. If she still drives the car, consider a trailer hitch, yellow tape on the rear bumper (rookie status) and a speed limiter.

I've never seen a car yet that doesn't have attachment points on the frame for transport chains.I used to have some and lost them over the years.Very handy.Called cluster hooks.

We have a car and I keep a Clevis in it that fits a hook up point.

The above post is worthless and insulting.

Tow hooks or loops front and rear would be useful on all cars. It seems that most cars only have one or two, and often NOT where they are needed when needed.

SUVs and FWD pickups seem to have tow hooks for appearance, but then put some sort of "catch" on the hooks that just make them a pain to use.

Ahh... Progress! Ain't it something.
