What grease gun are you using??

I use the Lincoln pistol grip guns that are around thirty bucks on amazon. They work fine for me and are cheap enough. I have a lot of things to grease and never thought pumping it by hand was that hard. Never saw the need to spend $200 on a battery one and I think I prefer manual because I don't have to worry about charging it. I have a harbor freight air operated one and it works fine but I usually just grab the manual one instead of dragging out the air hose.

ITs crazy but a guy at work had a 16$ harbor freight pistol grease gun for years greasing forklifts daily. I thought I could get away with a "performance tool" brand at oreilly. I didn't even have it a month and it was junk... Leaked grease everywhere. Quite disappointed.

Milwaukee M12 battery powered grease gun. Check Toolbarn.com, $199.00 for the Milwaukee, offering a free additional XC battery and free shipping. Great gun, I love mine and ordered a second one.

How does it save a ton of time? For me when greasing things the time is spent crawling around to get to the zerks and wiping them off before and after greasing not on the actual pumping. I mean it might take me five seconds to actually pump the grease in and with the electric you could do it in two seconds? So if your machine has ten fittings you save 30 seconds?

I am glad you are happy with it I just can't see how they would save much time.

It saves a lot of time especially if you have hard to reach fittings that require one hand to hold the grease fitting on the hose in place. Once you use one you'll realize how much of a time saver it actually is. It's much less of a chore. I once thought the same things until I bought a battery powered a few months back. If you have only one machine, maybe not worth the investment initially unless for convenience. Multiple machines and implements, absolutely. As far as the 10 fittings saving only 30 seconds. Time yourself greasing ten fittings with a manual and repeat with a battery powered gun. I'd be willing to bet its a bit more than 30 seconds.

Interesting. I don't like the lever grease guns because they take two hands to operate. I use the pistol grip style like bigfoot posted which I can operate with one hand while holding the fitting on with the other. I do a lot of greasing. Between all my equipment, trucks, implements I bet I have well over 100 grease fittings. I was basing my time savings off using my air operated grease gun vs the manual.

How long do the batteries last? I have several grease guns and keep them with certain equipment.

+1
With patience you should be able to find a new one on the internet for <$120. So much easier to use than hand-pump.
