We must not be looking at the same forum. When I look under Kubota Owning operating all the threads I see say the las post was yesterday. JD is 3-2. Kioti 3-2 Mahindra 2-25, MF 2-27, TYM 2-25
He was looking at Buying/Pricing.

The apple app does the same thing. But on the computer it goes back further.

When I open it in the web browser it shows 20 threads. I guess that is the best setting so it will be like the computer.

Even looking at owning/operating, only Kubota and NH have newer dates than LS on the first page I see. This forum started as a Kubota site as I recall...one would hope there would be more followers, plus it's an older brand, so both work in it's favor.

Regardless, none of that supports, or refutes, how many owners there are for any brand here in any objective fashion.

Whatever the exact number is, the LS owners don't seem to be reporting significant problems with any frequency. Oh wait, the rubber cover did pop off the reverse pedal on my 4047...should probably go start a thread.

JD has more than LS under owning operationg. All these brands were are talking about have at least 2 forums for tractors, some have 3 or 4. LS has one.

I think the more people that represent a brand on the forum reflects how many tractors that brand is selling.

Yes but it is all relative to how it is selling think about it. It is more advertisement and availability in an area. I never got to see a few tractor types or brands because there are none within 100 miles of me or more. So at that point you stick with what you can get and get serviced. But just to put this in to perspective for you....in my area there are more Orange Dealers then Green. So does that me Orange is better...no it means Orange has more opportunity here then Green. A lot of Massey running around also.

Perception is reality....reality is everything in someone's mind. You guys know this.

Using this forum as a baseline for tractor quality & durability, I see the opposite to be true. If you search the LS, NH & Case forums, you will find VERY FEW reports of actual problems with LS tractors. Are they perfect? No, of course not... but they appear to be one of the least problematic brands around. I don't know this to be true, but I would wonder if there's a different reason that particular dealer is pushing Mahindra. I would suspect their profit margin might be better. That is merely a guess. It wouldn't be the first time that a dealer has been dishonest in order to push one color over another ... even if they do carry more than one brand. There's even a dealer on this forum that has admitted to being dishonest with customers if it had suited his purposes.
My family has done business with these people since the fifties, same family owns this dealership and five others. They have one salesman and one parts man that has been there almost as long. They have known me since I was born, they are not dishonest, there not gonna sell someone something they don't need. It is there expirence in this, not mine. There sure not worried about there profit margin on little tractors, they sell enough full size New Holland ag tractors to take care of that. Remember , I said New Holland was there house brand. Also, like I said, same family has owned that dealership since the fifties, you don't stay in that business that long by being dishonest! LUTT

Well, if they are not staying in business by profit margins on new compact tractor purchases, maybe they stay in business by making money on service and repairs. Most dealerships will tell you that the money comes from service instead of new sales. Maybe don't like the LS machines because they are never back in for work? I don't know ... I'm speculating. Maybe ask them specifically what problems they have had with LS built machines. I have found in the past, that when people make a blanket statement, when you press them for specifics, they are often unable to produce anything reasonable.

You say you don't stay in business that long by being dishonest? Perhaps ... but you definitely don't stay in business that long without earning profits.

Owning an LS doesn't make me an "LS guy", although I do like mine. I'm a tractor guy. I like my MF just as much as my LS, does that make me an LS, or an MF guy???? If you were a salesman, and had to pick which machine to suggest to potential customers, would you sell the more expensive (Mahindra), or the less expensive one (LS)? The guy running the maintenance shop at my dealer says he prefers LS over Kioti (they sell both), because they make him feel like the Maytag repair man....he looks them over, sends them out, and never sees them again. I have yet to be impressed with the level of knowledge of anybody in tractor sales...they rarely seem to know much about the machines they sell, much less the ones they don't sell.
These people probly know more about them than anyone else. The salesman son farms for a living, The owner of said dealerships brother farms roughly ten thousand acres, I would say they know equipment. Where I am it's a tough market, northeast arkansas is a row crop Mecca, arkansas consistently punches out #1 in rice production, we are high in the rankings of soybean, corn, poultry, and beef production. Northeast Arkansas has a lot of those numbers.its not easy for a dealership of any brand to survive, farmers are a picky bunch of people. I it don't work it better or better be fixed. An this is a broad spectrum, from compacts used on poultry farms, to mid sizes on ranches, to full size ag tractors on row crop. We have it all, I'm not being biased to one paticular brand. Just calling it his I see it. As far as you being a LS guy, didn't know you wasn't, or was, you seem to push them hard. LUTT
