JD 3038E vs Kubota L3200

JD has more than LS under owning operationg. All these brands were are talking about have at least 2 forums for tractors, some have 3 or 4. LS has one.

I think the more people that represent a brand on the forum reflects how many tractors that brand is selling.
I had never heard of LS until I joined the forum...And after 30 years of tractor use have yet to see one in person. Not sayin they are bad or anything like that. :)

The Kubota is the one scary and unfortunately was not sold to us as a compact tractor. We told the dealer what we wanted and he presented this tractor as being able to do what we wanted. When it didn't they did not care. My neighbor up the road has a larger HP Kubota and it is also too light weight to do the jobs. I don't know why they make a loader for a tractor that won't pick up a load.

That's odd, I have a smaller Kubota and it will pick up a load? Sounds like a dealer problem, not a Kubota problem.

Tractor tipping, or just wont lift it? Are you using counter weight on the 3 pt?

Ya might want to start a new thread?

Could you explain in more detail?

I am currently in the market for a new tractor and the Kabota so far is on the list of contenders. I have yet to get to the JD dealership but am hopeing to do so this weekend. I stumbled upon this small comparison video this weekend and I doubt the JD will be able to get my money based on just this one comparison. New Kubota Standard L-Series (L3200/L3800) - YouTube

I think the original question was which machine would we buy based on the difference in price.

For me its simple, More reach with loader, more weight , no aluminum in the driveline, no plastic fenders and such puts the Kabota way ahead. So unless there is something I am missing and stumble upon this weekend when I look at the JD line I would have to choose the KABOTA based on all the available info I have even if it does cost a little more.

Anyone who loads a truck on a regular basis will certainly appreciate the extra reach and not having to get as close to the truck. The repairs for one slip up and hitting the truck would easily offset the cost difference.

The ability to bang out a dent in a couple min compared to having to try and repair the plastics is also a time and money saver for long time users

Rust is mentioned but repairing rust spots by welding in new pieces of scrap would cost me nothing but time when the machine gets old

That's not a comparison that's a Advertisement.

Your not missing anything. But keep in mind not all JD's have some of the shortcomings of the 3038e either. The 3032e and 3038e, are a "budget" tractor made to hit a price point. Not all JD machines are built that way. But that said, the L3200 and L3800 are also "standard" tractors to use Kubota's parlance, so they too do not include some things that I consider essential. One example I would point out on the Kubota is the 3pt hitch, some examples do not have a very smooth lift operation. It may or may not be in all units, and it may or may not effect your operation. But in comparing those two lines of tractors, well you have seen the differences and are making up your own mind about those differences.

You can "think" something all you want, but it doesn't make it factual, or logical. If a brand has been around longer than the lifetime of anybody currently alive, they should have more owners represented in an online forum. Activity on a forum doesn't have any direct correlation to current sales...and if it did, there would be no way to figure it out.

If you want to look at something somewhat objective, there are more "new tractor" threads in the LS section than in the Deere or Kubota forums (didn't bother checking all the others). Since the Kubota forum is by far the most active here, by your theory there should be more "new tractor" threads, but there aren't. Does that mean they're selling less tractors than LS? The answer is simply that nobody knows.

It was a good one...says a Kubota owner LOL! It was what helped me make my decision. That and more Kubota dealers here. Plus like the masses say...it just felt better. But I did pay a little more. That being said usually you get what you pay for if you do your home work. I was leaning towards LS also but the guys were pricks and no good financing offers so screw them. I went Orange. as for that crazy person saying the Kubota is scary and cant lift...that's total BS...I have been lifting and digging since day one. No issues here...on log so big it was right at limit of tractor and still got it moved. Trolls!
