Cold east wind blowing today and rain is predicted. But there are enough signs to know that Spring is on the way. Thank Goodness.

All my trees were budding out before the last cold snap that sent temps back into the high teens. Hopefully it didn't damage the trees. I hope the extreme cold this past winter hasn't killed my turkey fig tree. Some of the smaller limbs are dry and dead on it.

Wow we used to spend some good times at Lake Martin!

Trees are budding here and daffodils are about 4 inches high. Nights are still below freezing. I plan to start my seeds in the house this weekend and move to the greenhouse in a couple more weeks.

Like your signature. I have that same disorder. So many times I feel like a bird that flutters around, lights down in one place to dig a bit, then on to another location to dig some more, never finishing.

Milton,

Sometimes when I am not sure which project I want to work on that day I will go out side, close my eyes, spin in a circle 3-4 times and when I open my eyes that's the project I will work on:D

Today the snow we received five days ago is all gone and its been sun shining most all day. Nothing budding yet but saw the first robins today. We are making up for very little snow this winter with a lot of rain so far this year in the lowlands and heavy snowpack in the mountains. We definitely do not need another dry summer.

More signs that growing season is on the way. This picture has iris' getting ready to bud and bloom, fuzzy blueberry bushes, daffodils, herb garden pots ready for the plants, and new leaves on the fig tree. Those fig branches look so dead in the wintertime, and so fresh when the leaves appear, no wonder Jesus used it as a sign the new life is always possible.

And Wisteria blooms not far behind
