Rotary Cutter Best rotary cutter manufacture

I rarely see a Woods around my area. But it seems in other areas they are the favorite. I know little about them. Bush Hog is the rage here.

They have Modern Ag at one of the feed stores. Hot dipped galvanized deck and a good sized gear box looks good to me as my mower deck is rusting out. You can see some of the cutters at this company's web site. Modern Ag Predator Cutters,Grapple Tines and Large Capacity Sprayers

There's a McCormick dealer near me that sells those. I think the galvanized idea would extend the life of the deck some. But what would extend it more is keeping it cleaned off. My Brother was always bad about that. Could barely see the PTO and gear box for all the trash laying on the deck. Then he'd complain about it rusting thru.

Everything is thick, seal welded and hot dip galvanized. If your cutter sleeps outdoors you won't find anything better.

What specialized parts and support are ever really needed for a rotary cutter? There really isn't much unique on any of them that I can think of...what am I missing here?

Your right it shouldn't be a issue. However, my local dealer had a issue with woods several years ago when some of their gear boxes started failing and they responded very poorly. If I'm not mistaken Woods has now increase their warranty to 6 years which is the highest in the industry. I'm sure this is in response to the issue. But what goes is the warranty if they don't back it up.

Just bought a john deere mx10, haven't tried yet, have a woods 72 in that has taken a beating.

Did you get a pull type or semi mount??

I got the pull type with airplane tires and chains.
