Missing 777

1. It was definitely hijacked or pirated.
2. Somebody who knew about how to evade radar was flying it, at least for some of the flight.
3. They also knew that our regular satellites don't track aircraft at night very well, which is probably why they did it at night.
4. That somebody should also have known the fuel limit of 5 hours at low altitude vs 8 hours at 30,000 feet, and planned accordingly. They could go farther if they dumped the passengers and baggage out.
5. They took the plane up to 42,000 feet at one point, which is the highest it can go. No idea why, but if they depressurized the passenger compartment anywhere over 10,000 feet for a while, the passengers will all be dead and no threat to the hijackers.
6. It either landed at some airfield, landed in the water, crashed in the ocean, or crashed in some jungle. If it crashed, we'd have found it already.

45% chance the terrorists have it hidden. 45% chance they landed in the ocean and it sank. 10% chance it crashed somewhere. Every nation on the planet has a good reason to want to know where this thing is, or confirm it's crashed or sunk. The fact that nobody has said it crashed or sank may mean they know it was successfully taken and we might be seeing it used as a weapon delivery platform in the near future.

If I were a Muslim terrorist with a stolen big body jet hidden away, I know what my target would be (Probably Tel Aviv or Jerusalem) The question then is what kind of a weapon would they be putting in it? Chemical, biological, nuclear, or radiological?

Of course I have no idea how this relates to tractors, unless you're using one to tow stolen airplanes around some undeveloped airfield in the middle of nowhere.

Now they are focusing on the pilot, saying he was a "political fanatic"? I find that hard to believe being the reason. No manifesto, no note and no "statement", so what would be the "fanatical, political" point?? Unless he didn't make his destination and still, there would be no evidence it was more than an accident at that point.??

I have little faith in the Malaysian's in this investigation, the way they have done in this case.

Scapegoat, much? Apparently the man had some strong opinions about the local PTB and wasn't afraid to state them. So what? I've got some pretty strong opinions about my own state and federal governments but that does not a fanatic make. We may never know, but I'm thinking he's one of the victims, not one of the perps.

Hmmm... I don't know. Fanatics are notoriously incapable of recognizing their own fanaticism.

Well, I'm a machinery fanatic, I'll give you that. :D

Also notorious for making their fanaticism known, like at a monk with a can of gas! It is a good jigsaw puzzle anyhooo.

Steve that is right out of a Clancy novel. But it sounds plausible.
I'm not saying Mr Ledgerwood's scenario is impossible, but it is highly unlikely. The airways that planes use are like 2-way streets but with separation vertically instead of horizontally. Thats 1000 feet altitude separation. Most all planes are navigating with GPS so they are spot on the airway centerline. One airplane shadowing another would have to stack up or down about 500 feet to avoid the lead planes wake turbulence. Now if these two planes passed any opposite direction traffic the separation would be minimal and the passing pilots would be alerting ATC. These airways are heavily used and someone would see whats going on. I suppose it could happen but don't think so.
What did happen I no clue. Lots of ocean out there and lots of double/triple canopy jungle that would swallow up an aircraft with very little clue.
