Which 6 ft rotary cutter?

The deck has to be braced because of the torque of the gear box and stump jumper. They can either be braced on top or bottom of the deck.

Yea I understand that it must be braced. I just thought it was a "double deck". Smooth top and bottom with bracing inside. But like I said I have never looked at a smooth top cutter before.

Some do, I just can't remember which ones, I was reading the specs on one the other day, but since I am not in the market, I didn't pay that much attention to the brand or model, may have been a Woods bat wing; just don't remember.

The Landpride RCR2672 is a very good choice, a lot of cutter for the money. I have one that I use commercially and it has been VERY tough.

I called Land Pride today and told that both the RCF 2672 and RCF 2772 have smooth undersides to it. I asked how is that possible as the 2772 has a smooth top. He said the bracing is actually sandwiched in between the too surfaces.

I chose to get the older LP 1860 with the braceing on top over the 2060 with the smooth top. I don't see how they can say there is bracing sandwiched between the top and underside as the 2060 weighs 19 pounds LESS than the older 1860. If they do have a "double deck" design its got to be thinner steel. Also since you can't "get in there" to clean it or make sure it's dry isn't a double deck design more prone to rust issues as moisture will find its way between the decks somehow. It looks like a solutioin to a problem that is going to end up a bigger problem than it was trying to solve. But I'm just a old geezer dag nab it, don't like them newfangled cutters...:grumpy:

I agree, I have researched and am down to the RCR2672 or the RCF2772 the smooth is 26 lbs heavier I would rather get out the welder to reinforce a frame member if I found Crack or Break if it is Sandwiched inside you would never know it was Broken till it was REALLY BROKE
