JD 4960 sits outside for 20 years with 14 hours

My B-I-L's uncle owns a farm on which I used to deer hunt. he ran a 4960 until he retired. his was like new with very low hours on it. I got to ride along with him in it a few times. These are about the best looking tractors JD ever made.

I agree that these are great looking tractors. We just got one with a new engine and transmission with 11000 hrs on it. Picked up a real nice 965 6 bottom switch plow to go with it and I can't wait to start plowing. Go Green!

The tractor in your avatar is beautiful. 4020 or 4320?

Thanks, It's a 3020 we restored about 4 years ago. We are currently restoring another 3020 and a 2510. As soon as we get done I plan on posting a series of pics that show the progress from start to finish. We currently have a 4020, 3020, 3010 and the 2510 we use mostly for moving hard hose irrigation guns on the farm. Great looking reliable tractors for the money. We also have a 2555 and a 2755 but they just don't have the classic styling of the older ones.

Thanks for the info.

I came very close to buying a very nice condition relatively low hour 4020 a couple years back for $7K. I wish I had now. I don't have a use for it at the moment so it was hard to justify the expenditure, but looking back, I really should have did it anyway.
